We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent financial burden you are carrying. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 22:7, "The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender." Yet we also know that God is just and cares deeply about fairness and restitution. We stand on His promises, including Psalm 37:21, which says, "The wicked borrow and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously."
Father God, we ask You to move mightily in the hearts of those who owe this money. Soften their hearts, Lord, and convict them of their responsibility to repay what they have borrowed. We rebuke any spirit of dishonesty, greed, or delay in the name of Jesus. Your Word declares in Romans 13:8, "Owe no one anything, except to love one another," and we pray that this truth would take root in their lives. Let them understand the weight of their obligation and the blessing of fulfilling it.
We also lift up this family to You, asking for Your peace to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Financial strain can bring great anxiety, but we trust in Your provision. Remind them that You are their Provider, as Philippians 4:19 assures, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
Lord, we ask for wisdom in how to handle these situations. Give them discernment in their conversations and actions, that they may act with integrity and grace. If there are legal steps to be taken, guide them in righteousness. If reconciliation is possible, let it be done in a way that honors You.
Father, we also pray for repentance if there has been any ungodly attitude in this matter—whether impatience, bitterness, or unforgiveness. Help them to release these burdens to You, trusting that vengeance belongs to You alone (Romans 12:19). Let their hearts remain pure before You, even in this trial.
We declare that restoration is coming. Joel 2:25 says, "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten," and we claim that promise over this situation. May the money be returned swiftly and in full, not by human manipulation, but by Your divine intervention. Let Your name be glorified in this, Lord, as You prove Yourself faithful once again.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who paid our debt in full and offers us eternal restoration. Amen.
