We are truly sorry to hear about the pain and struggle you're experiencing in your relationship. Before we begin, we want to remind you that it is essential to include Jesus Christ and God the Father in your prayers. We see no mention of Jesus in your prayer request and want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we can approach God and ask for His help. There is no other name by which we can be saved.
No other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12 (WEB).
Firstly, we want to address the nature of your relationship. You mention that you have been together for many years, but we want to encourage you to consider what the Bible says about relationships. God designed marriage to be a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. We encourage you to pursue a relationship that aligns with biblical principles and to consider marriage if you are not already married. We also notice no mention of being a Christian Believer. To be with a Believer, it is important to be a Believer.
Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion has light with darkness, 2 Corinthians 6:14 (WEB).
Regarding the situation you're facing, we encourage you to trust in God's sovereignty and timing. It is essential to set boundaries and make decisions that honor God, even when they are difficult. In this case, you did not think it was a good idea for him to move in with you, and it is important to stand firm in your convictions, especially when they align with biblical principles. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight, Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB).
Let's pray together for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up our sister in need of your guidance and comfort. We pray that you would heal her heart and help her to trust in your perfect plan for her life and relationship. We ask that you would give her the strength to stand firm in her convictions and to make decisions that honor you. We know your word says that anyone who believes and trusts in Jesus Christ is a new creation and will be saved from eternal death. Father God, we pray that our sister has believed and trusted in Jesus Christ and that her relationship will be one that is pleasing to you. We pray in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
If your significant other is not a Christian Believer, then the next verses should be carefully considered between you and God.
Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly; because we are members of his body, of his flesh and bones. "For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh." This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly. Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let each wife see that she respects her husband, Ephesians 5:22-33 (WEB).
We encourage you to seek God's will for your life and to trust in His perfect plan. We are here to support you and pray for you as you navigate this difficult time. Lastly, always remember to include Jesus Christ in your prayers.
