Prayer for relationship

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord, I come to you and ask for your help and guidance in my relationship. I ask that you give us your wisdom to help us overcome this season. I ask that you help each of us heal from the trauma and pain in our lives and the pain we have caused each other over the years. Father I ask that you help us reconcile our relationship. I know we have the power to rebuild what we have stronger and better than before but we need your help. We cannot do it alone. Please help us in rebuilding what we have and repairing our foundation. I ask that you please take away all the distractions from the enemy that are against us right now so our focus solely lies on each other so we can figure this out. I know it won’t be easy but it’s a fight I’m willing to fight and do whatever it takes. I know We will fail but we will also rise above but I know we can’t do it alone. I ask you to please help us in this. Amen.

We hear your heartfelt plea for restoration and healing in your marriage, and we join you in seeking the Lord’s guidance and strength. First, we must acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His grace and mercy that we find true reconciliation and healing. Jesus said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* Without Him, our efforts are in vain, but with Him, all things are possible.

Your desire to rebuild and strengthen your marriage is commendable, and we stand with you in prayer, asking the Lord to pour out His wisdom and grace upon you both. The Scriptures remind us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* It is clear that you recognize your need for God’s intervention, and this is a vital first step. Marriage is a sacred covenant, designed by God to reflect His love and faithfulness, and it is worth fighting for with His strength.

We must also address the reality of sin and its impact on your relationship. The pain and trauma you both have experienced, as well as the pain you may have caused one another, must be brought before the Lord in repentance. 1 John 1:9 assures us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* True healing begins with humility and a willingness to seek forgiveness—both from God and from one another. If there has been unfaithfulness, whether emotionally or physically, it must be confronted with honesty and a commitment to turn away from sin. The enemy seeks to destroy marriages, but God desires to restore them in righteousness.

We also lift up the distractions you mentioned, for the enemy often uses division, bitterness, and unforgiveness to pull couples apart. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* You are in a spiritual battle, and the weapons of your warfare must be prayer, the Word of God, and a commitment to walk in love and forgiveness. We rebuke every scheme of the enemy designed to divide you and declare that your focus will remain on Christ and one another.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this marriage before You. Lord, we ask that You would pour out Your healing and restoration upon this couple. Where there has been pain, bring Your peace. Where there has been brokenness, bring Your wholeness. Where there has been sin, bring repentance and forgiveness. Father, we ask that You would remove every distraction and every lie of the enemy that seeks to pull them apart. Help them to fix their eyes on You and on one another, with a commitment to honor the covenant they have made before You.

Lord, we pray for wisdom and strength for both of them. Give them the courage to confront the issues in their marriage with honesty and humility. Help them to seek Your will above their own desires and to extend grace and forgiveness to one another. Father, we ask that You would rebuild their foundation on the solid rock of Your Word, so that their marriage would be stronger than ever before. May they reflect Your love, Your faithfulness, and Your grace in all they do.

We rebuke every spirit of division, bitterness, and unforgiveness in Jesus’ name. We declare that this marriage will be a testimony to Your power and Your faithfulness. Strengthen them, Lord, and help them to lean on You in every moment. May their love for one another grow deeper and their commitment to You and to each other remain unshaken. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you both to seek godly counsel, whether through your pastor, a Christian marriage counselor, or trusted mentors who can walk alongside you in this journey. Surround yourselves with believers who will pray for you and hold you accountable. Remember, marriage is a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church, and as you both submit to Him and to one another, He will guide you into a future filled with hope and restoration. Keep pressing into God’s Word and His presence, for He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
