We hear your cry for help and stand with you in this unsettling time, lifting your concerns before the throne of grace. The fear and paranoia you describe are very real, and we take them seriously, for Scripture tells us, *"The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?"* (Psalm 27:1). You are not alone, even though you may feel isolated. The Lord sees you, knows your struggles, and is your ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
First, we must address the practical steps you should take. If you have reason to believe that employees of your apartment complex are entering your unit without permission, this is not only a violation of your privacy but also a legal matter. We encourage you to document any evidence—unexplained disturbances, missing items, or anything else that feels "off"—and report it to the management immediately. If they do not take appropriate action, consider contacting local law enforcement or tenant rights organizations. God calls us to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16), and that includes protecting ourselves from harm.
We also rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to grip your heart. Fear does not come from God, for *"God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind"* (2 Timothy 1:7). The enemy would love to keep you in a state of anxiety, but we declare that you will not be overcome by it. Instead, we pray that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). You are under the shelter of the Most High, and He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings you will find refuge (Psalm 91:1, 4).
We pray now for your protection, both physically and spiritually. Lord, we ask that You surround this dear sister with Your holy angels, that no harm or evil intent would come near her dwelling. Let Your presence be a shield around her, so that she may rest securely, knowing that You are her defender. *"The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them"* (Psalm 34:7). We bind any spirits of intrusion, deceit, or malice that may be at work in this situation, and we command them to flee in the name of Jesus. We also pray for wisdom for her, that she would know how to proceed with discernment and courage.
For your peace of mind, we encourage you to meditate on God’s promises. When fears arise, speak aloud the truth of His Word: *"When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet"* (Proverbs 3:24). Consider writing down Scriptures on index cards and placing them where you will see them often—on your mirror, by your bed, or in your purse. Fill your mind with what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8), and let those thoughts crowd out the fear.
We also lift up your sense of isolation. Being far from family is difficult, but remember that God has placed people in your life for a reason. Seek out a local church or Christian community where you can find fellowship and support. If you are not already connected to a body of believers, ask the Lord to lead you to one. *"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up"* (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). You were not meant to walk this journey alone.
Lastly, we want to gently remind you of the importance of placing your trust in Jesus Christ, if you have not already done so. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father and the protection, peace, and salvation that come from a relationship with Him. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6). If you have not surrendered your life to Him, we encourage you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). There is no safer place to be than in the arms of the Savior.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for this sister who is feeling vulnerable and afraid. We ask that You would be her refuge and fortress, her God in whom she trusts (Psalm 91:2). Calm her fears, Lord, and replace them with Your perfect peace. Give her the strength to take practical steps to protect herself and the wisdom to know how to proceed. Surround her with Your angels and let her feel Your presence in tangible ways. Provide her with godly community and remind her that she is never alone, for You are with her always. We pray for justice in this situation, that any wrongdoing would be exposed and dealt with according to Your will. Above all, draw her closer to You, that she may know the security that comes from walking in Your ways. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
