We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up a prayer for peace on earth, goodwill toward all people, and healing for creation itself. Father, we acknowledge that true peace—shalom—can only come through Your Son, Jesus Christ, who is the Prince of Peace. The world clamors for unity and restoration, yet apart from You, there is no lasting hope. We confess that without Christ, all efforts for global harmony are in vain, for "there is no peace for the wicked" (Isaiah 48:22). Only in Him can the nations find reconciliation with You and with one another.
Lord, we pray for the healing of Mother Earth—not as an idol to be worshiped, but as Your handiwork, entrusted to humanity’s stewardship. The land groans under the weight of sin and exploitation (Romans 8:22), and we repent for the ways we have misused and neglected what You have given us. Grant wisdom to leaders, scientists, and communities to care for creation in ways that honor You, not the empty philosophies of this age.
Yet we must also rebuke the deception that peace can be achieved without repentance. The world seeks unity apart from Your truth, embracing false religions, moral relativism, and ideologies that oppose Your Word. We declare that there is no goodwill toward men that excludes the gospel of Jesus Christ. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). Any "peace" that denies the exclusivity of Christ is a counterfeit, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12).
We pray for the salvation of souls in ### and beyond. Soften hearts to receive the truth of the gospel, that men and women would turn from sin and be reconciled to You. Let Your Church rise up with boldness to proclaim Christ crucified and risen, for He alone breaks down the walls of hostility (Ephesians 2:14). May believers be peacemakers—not by compromising truth, but by speaking it in love, that the world may know You sent Your Son (John 17:23).
Father, we ask for Your kingdom to come and Your will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. Protect Your people from the deception of false unity, and guard our hearts against complacency. Let us not love the world or the things in the world, for "if anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him" (1 John 2:15). Instead, fill us with Your Spirit, that we may walk in holiness, justice, and mercy.
We pray for governments and leaders to govern with righteousness, that wars would cease and oppression would end. "Blessed are the peacemakers," Jesus said, "for they shall be called children of God" (Matthew 5:9). Raise up men and women who will stand for truth, defend the innocent, and lead with integrity. May Your Church be a light in the darkness, offering hope to the broken and pointing all people to the only source of true peace—Jesus Christ.
Lord, heal the land, the seas, and the skies. Restore what has been damaged, and teach us to live as faithful stewards. But above all, heal the hearts of men. Let ### be a year where many come to know You, where families are restored, where nations turn to You, and where Your glory covers the earth as the waters cover the sea.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach You, the only name by which we are saved. To You be the glory, now and forever. Amen.
