Prayer for peace and calmness

Please keep me and my toddler in your prayers. I am feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. My little one has been having constant tantrums, kicking, screaming, and refusing to let me do even the simplest tasks. I love her more than anything, but lately I feel like I am losing my sanity and don't know what to do anymore. Please pray for patience, wisdom, strength, and peace for me as her mother. Pray that I can respond with love and calm, even when I feel stretched beyond my limits. And please pray for my daughter—that whatever she is struggling with, she may find comfort, regulation, and a gentler way to express her emotions. I know toddlers are still learning how to navigate their big feelings, but right now I feel deeply worn down and in need of support. Thank you so much for your prayers.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting you and your precious toddler up in prayer. Motherhood is a sacred calling, yet it can also be one of the most challenging roles we face. The exhaustion, the overwhelming emotions, and the feeling of being stretched beyond your limits are real, and we want you to know that God sees you, hears you, and cares deeply for you both. You are not alone in this struggle, and we stand with you, seeking the Lord’s peace, strength, and wisdom on your behalf.

The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We claim this promise over you today. May the peace of God, which transcends all human understanding, fill your heart and mind, calming the storm within you. May His presence be a tangible comfort as you navigate these difficult moments with your little one.

We also pray for your daughter, that the Lord would soothe her heart and help her to express her emotions in ways that bring peace rather than turmoil. Proverbs 22:6 tells us, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Even in these early years, the Lord is working in her life, shaping her heart and teaching her how to navigate the world. We ask that He would give you the wisdom to guide her with patience, love, and consistency, even when it feels impossible.

It is clear that you love your daughter deeply, and your desire to respond to her with love and calmness, even in the midst of chaos, is a testament to the Holy Spirit working in you. However, we must also address the weariness in your spirit. Jesus invites us in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." Have you been bringing your exhaustion to Him? Are you allowing yourself moments of rest, even if they are brief? We encourage you to carve out time, even if it is just a few minutes each day, to sit at the feet of Jesus, to pour out your heart to Him, and to receive His strength. You cannot pour from an empty cup, and the Lord desires to fill you up so that you can continue to love and care for your daughter well.

We also want to gently remind you of the importance of community. Galatians 6:2 tells us, "Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Is there someone in your life—a friend, family member, or fellow believer—who can come alongside you, even if just to offer a listening ear or a helping hand? You do not have to carry this burden alone. The Lord often provides support through the body of Christ, and we encourage you to seek out that support if you haven’t already.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of compassion for this dear mother and her precious child. Lord, we ask that You would pour out Your peace upon her, a peace that surpasses all understanding and guards her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Father, we pray for strength and endurance for her, that she would not grow weary in doing good, but would find her strength in You. Give her wisdom as she parents her daughter, help her to respond with love and patience, even in the most challenging moments.

Lord, we also lift up this little one to You. We ask that You would comfort her heart, soothe her spirit, and help her to express her emotions in ways that bring peace. Give her a sense of security and love, knowing that she is deeply cherished by You and by her mother. Father, we ask that You would work in both of their hearts, drawing them closer to You and to one another.

We pray for rest for this mother, Lord. Help her to find moments of stillness in Your presence, where she can be refreshed and renewed. Surround her with a community of believers who can support her, encourage her, and bear her burdens alongside her. And finally, Lord, we ask that You would remind her daily of Your unfailing love and grace. May she know that she is not alone, that You are with her, and that You will never leave her nor forsake her.

In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

You are doing a holy work, dear sister. Motherhood is not easy, but it is one of the most important callings the Lord gives. Keep pressing into Him, keep seeking His face, and trust that He is working in ways you may not yet see. The Lord is your strength, your refuge, and your peace. Lean on Him, and He will sustain you.

We're right here with you, dear friend. We know the weight of motherhood can feel like a heavy cross at times, but remember, you're not carrying it alone. Jesus is right there, walking beside you, every step of the way.

We've been praying for you and your little one, asking for God's peace to fill your home, for His wisdom to guide your parenting, and for His love to wrap around both of you like a warm blanket. We've been claiming Psalm 147:3 over you, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We know you're hurting, and we trust that God is in the business of healing and mending.

We've also been praying for your daughter, that God would help her express her emotions in healthy ways, and that He would give you the patience and love to guide her through this challenging season. We've been claiming Proverbs 22:6 over her, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."

But we also want to remind you to take care of yourself, dear one. It's like they say on airplanes, "Put on your own oxygen mask before assisting others." You can't pour from an empty cup, so make sure you're filling up with God's love and grace each day. Maybe that's a quiet moment with a cup of tea and a good book, or a walk in nature, or just a few minutes of silence with God. Whatever it is, make sure you're taking care of you too.

You're doing an incredible job, mama. Keep going, one step at a time. You're not alone. We're praying for you, and so is a mighty God who loves you more than you can imagine. Trust in Him, and lean on His strength. You can do this, one tantrum at a time. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our honor to lift you and your precious toddler before the Lord, asking Him to wrap you both in His peace and calm. We have prayed earnestly for patience, wisdom, and strength to fill your heart as you mother your little one, and for the Lord to help you respond with love and gentleness, even in the most challenging moments.

We have also asked our Heavenly Father to comfort your daughter, to help her find regulation in her emotions, and to give her a softer way to express what she is feeling. We know how deeply exhausting this season can be, and we have lifted up your weariness, asking God to renew your strength and fill you with His perfect peace.

If the Lord has answered these prayers in any way—whether through moments of calm, fresh patience, or a shift in your daughter’s heart—we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you. If you are still feeling overwhelmed and in need of continued prayer, please know that we are here to stand with you again. You are not alone, and we will continue to lift you both up before the throne of grace.

May the Lord bless you with His presence, His rest, and His hope as you seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray all these things in Jesus’ Name.
