Prayer for new position

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Dear family. Please pray with me. I posted about a request for prayers two weeks ago, about position that I have applied for in March. We prayed and asked God that may I be shortlisted for interviews. My biggest challenge was that my supervisor did not like me though i am acting on the position. Indeed my prayer was answered. I was shortlisted and went for interviews on Tuesday. Out of ###+ received applications, only ### were invited for interviews. On the practical part I am sure i got over ###% with the answering of questions, writing and presentation to the panel. But on the oral interview, I had mental block and panick attack, and i didn't feel my best at all. It was like something went out of my brain. The moment i came out of the interview room, it was like my senses came back to me. But through it all, I am praying to God that I get this position in Jesus' Mighty name! Amen🙏

We rejoice with you and give thanks to God that He has already answered prayer by bringing you this far, from applying in March to being among the few invited for interviews out of so many applications. We see His hand in this and we join you in continuing to seek His will for this position.

We understand how difficult it was to experience that mental block and panic in the oral interview after doing so well in the practical part, and how strange it felt to have your senses return once you left the room. We also remember your concern about your supervisor and we know that can add to the pressure. Please be encouraged that God sees all of this, both your preparation and your struggle in that moment.

Scripture reminds us not to be overcome by anxiety but to bring everything to Him. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. And we are also reminded that For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. That panic you felt does not define you and it does not limit what God can do.

We also hold to the promise that Commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall be established. Proverbs 16:3. And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Colossians 3:23. You have labored faithfully while acting in this position and you have prepared diligently, and we pray that your work has been a testimony to Him. We trust in His perfect plan for you, for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28.

We are grateful that you have asked in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You for Your faithfulness to our dear one, for opening the door to be shortlisted and for giving ability in the practical presentation and writing. We thank You that You are sovereign over every panel and every decision. Lord we lift up the oral interview to You. You saw the mental block and the panic, and You know the heart that desires to serve You well in this work. We ask for Your peace to guard this heart and mind now as we wait for the outcome. If it is Your will, we ask that You grant favor with the panel and with the supervisor, and that You would open the door to this position. If You have another path, we ask that You make it clear and give contentment and hope. We pray for continued strength while acting in the position and for grace in every workplace relationship. Let Your will be done and let Your name be glorified in the result. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to rest in Him during this waiting period. Continue to commit your work to Him daily and trust that whether He grants this specific position or leads you elsewhere, He is working for your good and His glory. We are standing with you in prayer and we praise God with you for what He has already done and for what He will do.

We were so glad to get your update and to keep praying with you through this process.

Thank you for sharing both the good news and the hard part. Being one of only a few invited out of so many applications is significant, and we rejoice with you that God opened that door. We also hear how unsettling the oral interview felt, working so hard to prepare and then feeling your mind go blank in the moment, only to have clarity return right after. That kind of experience can leave you replaying every minute and wondering what it means for the outcome. It makes sense you would feel disappointed and anxious while you wait.

We are continuing to ask God for His clear leading here, whether that is opening this position for you or guiding you to what is next. You have been faithful to do the work in front of you, including serving in the acting role under difficult circumstances, and God sees that faithfulness even when an interview does not feel like your best.

While you wait for the decision, one steady next step may be to give yourself a little space to rest and debrief, and to let a trusted friend or mentor know how the interview affected you. If you notice panic or that sense of blocking happening often, it can be wise to talk with your doctor or a counselor as well, alongside prayer, simply to care for your health.

Father, we bring our brother before You and thank You for how You have carried him this far. We ask for Your peace as he waits, for wisdom for those making the decision, and for Your good direction for his next steps. Give him rest and confidence that he is held by You whatever the outcome. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We thank God with you for the mercy already shown, and we have brought your request before the Lord with gladness. You asked that you might be shortlisted, though your supervisor did not favor you, and out of many applications only a few were called. The Lord, who waits to be gracious, heard that prayer and answered it. Behold how the heart of God yearns toward His people, and how patiently He waits to show kindness. The bread which you cast upon the waters of prayer has been found after many days, and we praise Him for it.

We also hear your honest confession concerning the oral interview, that a panic and a blocking of mind came upon you, and that your senses seemed to leave you and then to return. Take comfort, for God is mighty and despises not any. Man may despise, but the Lord does not despise the lowly nor the troubled. He saw you in that room, He knew the fluttering of your heart, and He is able to keep in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed upon Him. Remember that true peace is peace with God through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved, and no peace to be found out of Christ. He is our peace, having made peace by the blood of His cross, and He can give you that peace which passes all understanding even while you wait for the outcome.

Therefore let your soul wait only upon God and be silent before Him. Calvin well renders it, be thou silent before God, rest calm and undisturbed. Do not wait upon the favor of man, nor upon the panel, nor upon your own performance in writing and presentation, but wait only upon the Lord. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength and shall not want any good thing. If this position is that good thing which the Lord has appointed for you, for your good and for His glory, He is able to give it, though the last part of the trial felt weak in your own eyes. If in His wisdom He has another path, He will make that plain and will give you grace to walk in it with contentment.

We pray with you now to our faithful God and Father.

O Lord our God, we thank Thee for having heard prayer and for bringing our friend thus far. Thou art mighty in strength and wisdom and Thou despisest not any that seek Thee through Jesus Christ Thy Son. We ask Thee to do that which is best. If it be Thy will and for the good of this Thy servant and for the glory of Thy name, grant this position according to Thy mercy. If not, withhold it in love and give a quiet heart to accept Thy will, and provide that which Thou seest to be better. Take away all fear and give the peace of God which guards heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Keep this soul resting upon the atoning sacrifice of Christ and upon Thy promises, and let all be done as Thou wilt, for Thou art the God of peace who restores and preserves and at last perfects peace to Thy people. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is our hope and salvation. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
