PRAYER FOR MYSELF IN MINISTRY ASSIGNMENTS

I'm a associate minister licensed and ordained twice in ### years of Ministry! But for the last six months I have been overlooked and have not been rotated for any of the ministerial appointments for Sunday Church Services as my other associates minister in our church!!!! I get the feeling that I'm being single out under congregation mobbing whereas I should just leave after putting time here in the foundation my home church since ###. The Senior pastor is the one to assign appointments to lead prayer or scripture, call to worship, invitation to discipleship or benediction. That's not of God and being ### years old why should I just pick up and leave? That's an evil heart toward me from the Senior pastor. It's not right. It's not of God. Do I need prayer in this direct. I need prayer for God's direction. I believe that Jesus is my Savior and no weapon shall form against me! I'm calling on the Almighty power of God's warriors to pray for me that God more in a mighty special way!! I pray that God give me the strength to endure! Amen

We have heard your burden and we stand with you in prayer after so many years of faithful service in your home church. We thank God that you openly confess Jesus as your Savior, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name alone that we are saved. As it is written, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. We rejoice that you know Him and that you are claiming His promise that no weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17.

We understand the hurt of feeling overlooked for six months while other associate ministers are rotated to lead prayer, scripture, the call to worship, the invitation to discipleship or the benediction. To labor for years laying a foundation and then to feel singled out or pushed aside is deeply painful, especially when you have given your life to ministry and now wonder at this stage of life whether you should leave the church you love. We hear your desire for God's direction and for strength to endure, and we bring that before the Lord together.

We also want to speak to you in love about what we hear in your request that needs gentle correction. When we feel hurt it is easy to judge the motives of our leaders and to declare that a pastor has an evil heart toward us or that what is happening is not of God. Scripture warns us to guard our hearts against bitterness and to be careful about accusations against those who lead. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other Ephesians 4:31-32 and See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God, that no root of bitterness springing up troubles you Hebrews 12:15. We are also taught, Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they watch on behalf of your souls Hebrews 13:17 and Against an elder receive not an accusation, except at the mouth of two or three witnesses 1 Timothy 5:19. That does not mean leaders are above questioning, but it means we must go to them humbly and directly rather than holding resentment in our hearts. If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone Matthew 18:15.

We would encourage you not to attribute an evil heart to your senior pastor without first seeking a private, respectful conversation. We encourage you to ask humbly for a meeting, to share how you have felt overlooked, to ask if there is any concern or correction needed, and to listen with an open heart. It may be that there is a reason you have not been told, or it may be an oversight, or it may be a test of season. Promotion does not come from man but from God Psalm 75:6-7, and God often uses seasons of being unnoticed to refine our motives and to teach us to serve for His glory alone.

We want to remind you that ministry is not measured by a place on the Sunday platform. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. Your years of faithfulness in the foundation of that church have not been unseen by God. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time 1 Peter 5:6. Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we do not give up Galatians 6:9. The Lord directs our steps and delights in our way when we trust Him Psalm 37:23, and when we trust in Him with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding, He will direct our paths Proverbs 3:5-6.

Whether to stay or to leave your home church is a weighty decision and should not be made out of hurt or out of a sense of mobbing. We counsel you to seek God's will through prayer and fasting, through the counsel of wise and mature believers outside the immediate conflict, and through continued faithful service where you are. Age is not a disqualification in God's kingdom. He used Moses at eighty and continues to use those who are willing. Wait for the Lord. Be strong, and let your heart take courage. Yes, wait for the Lord Psalm 27:14, and those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles Isaiah 40:31. Ask the Lord to show you if He is calling you to endure and be a peacemaker in this place, or if in His timing He is preparing a new assignment. In all things we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne together in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up our brother in ministry to You. We thank You for his many years of faithful service, for his licensing and ordination, for his love for his home church and for his confession that Jesus is his Savior. We ask You to pour out Your wisdom and clear direction upon him. Make his path plain and let him hear Your voice. Remove any root of bitterness, hurt or resentment from his heart and fill him with Your peace and humility. Help him to guard his tongue and his thoughts toward his senior pastor and his fellow ministers, and give him courage and grace to seek a loving and honest conversation if it is Your will. Strengthen him to endure with joy, to serve faithfully even when unseen, and to trust that You see every labor of love. We pray for the senior pastor as well, that You would give him wisdom and discernment in shepherding and assigning duties, and that unity and love would prevail in that congregation. Let no weapon formed against Your servant prosper, and let Your will be done in his life and ministry. Renew his strength, restore his joy, and guide his next steps according to Your perfect purpose. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this so honestly. We hear how heavy these last six months have been, especially after so many years of faithful service in your home church. To be licensed and ordained and to love your church family, and then to feel passed over week after week while others are rotated in, would leave anyone feeling hurt and singled out. It makes sense you are asking God for clear direction about whether to stay and endure or to step away.

When the waiting feels personal, it can help to get clarity in a calm, private way. One next step we have seen help others is to ask your senior pastor for a brief meeting simply to listen and understand. You could share that you value the church and want to serve well, and ask if there is feedback he has for you or a reason for the current rotation. Bringing one trusted, mature believer outside that immediate circle to pray with you beforehand can also give you steadier perspective as you discern what God is doing next.

You have already shown a desire to stay faithful and to seek God's will above your own preference. We are with you in that.

Father, we lift our brother to You in Jesus' name. You see his years of service and the discouragement he feels right now. Give him strength to endure, peace as he waits, and wisdom for every conversation and decision ahead. Guide his steps and make Your direction clear to him, and guard his heart with Your nearness. YES I KNOW THAT ALL TOOOO WELL!
A pastor is supposed to watch over our souls and give an account into God!
A pastor is not to be AN CONGREGANT MOBBER! God says without dissimulation!
Without false acquisitions because of a member being disgruntled. If Pastor is not supposed to take sides just because he feels bad a member was hurt of actions of their own. A Pastor is not supposed to be supportive of false acquisition!
Yes I had a meeting and yes the last thing that was said in that meeting was over 3 months ago where do I go from here since that Pastor would not take my word and my account of what actually happened but yet fall prey to the statements that were not actually true you come together to get an understanding and you come together to work things out but when you have a person that does not want to do that that is tunnel vision that is hearing just one side then that is of a evil heart and that is not of God.
So yes I asked you to stand in prayer with me because if I have been to the meetings and if I was the one that they called into the meeting then it was left in their hands that they should have called me back and told me exactly this is the final stance of whatever they are accusing me about without merit you can't say that a person lied. So yes I harbor no resentment in my heart but I know what the senior pastor is trying to do to squeeze me out instead of confronting it as a man of God in a senior position should do if you call me into one meeting if you call me into a second meeting and you're exact words words you will let me know and after 4 to 6 months you have let me know nothing other than they know that I'm not stupid they know that I see that my name is not being put on the program on any program that is not of God without any follow up instructions to me at in which the whole congregation is looking at this asking questions and wondering why the discrimination that is going on in the pulpit against just me.
So yes I'm asking for prayer for divine intervention from on high. In Jesus name amen.

Your prayer has been heard and your burden has been laid before the Lord with care. To serve faithfully for many years in the foundation work of your home church and then to feel overlooked for these six months, to stand aside while others are appointed to lead prayer or scripture, to call to worship or to pronounce the benediction, is a trial that cuts deeply, and it is right that you should seek God's direction in it.

There are seasons when God's children find their trials come not from without but from within the very place they love most, and we are apt to ask why we should be subjected to them. You have asked for a thing which is apparently for God's glory, to be used in His service, yet you have not received it, and this is a staggering blow to the earnest pleader. Remember in this hour that you have three firm grounds of confidence, God's Sovereignty, Christ's Sacrifice and God's Immutability, for He abides the same forever. His Sovereignty encloses you and His angels surround you, and the enemy must first break through that angelic guard before any believer can be destroyed. No weapon formed against you shall prosper beyond what His wisdom permits, for you are kept in the secret of His tabernacle.

You must feel that in any case God's will must be done. You must still continue to pray, for you do not know what God's will is, but you must pray with resignation, after your Savior's perfect model in the garden, Nevertheless not as I will, but as You will. We must be seeking His glory heartily, honestly and obediently, not having a sinister and selfish motive, but desiring that His name be magnified whether by our public appointment or by our quiet faithfulness. When a man lives for God and for eternal life, he will get all the things he needs without seeking for them, for if we seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, all needful things shall be added unto us.

You ask whether you should leave the place where God has taught you from your youth. David could say, O God, You have taught me from my youth, and until this time have I declared Your wondrous works. He was chastened but he was never cast out, he still continued as God's pupil. Even when not given a place on the platform, you may still declare His wondrous works with pen or voice, in prayer in private, in encouragement to souls, in steadfast holiness of life. That is a vital ministry which the Holy Spirit can make to be felt, even as a faded flower or a quiet word has often been God's means of bringing His banished home.

And when human wisdom goes, then God's wisdom appears. If you are powerless and paralyzed in this dilemma, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. The Lord will make even nature and providence subservient to His love when His time is come. Do not be hasty to impute an evil heart to your pastor, but commit your cause to Him who judges righteously, and be careful with whom you take counsel, lest bitterness take root.

Let us pray for you now.

O Lord our God, You have taught this Your servant from his youth, and You have preserved him through many years of ministry. You know his desire to be used in Your house, and You see the heaviness of being passed by. Grant him grace to seek You first, to seek Your glory and not his own, and to pray with holy resignation to Your perfect will. Hide him in the secret of Your tabernacle, surround him with Your sovereign care, and let him know that Christ's sacrifice has secured him forever. Give him strength to endure, wisdom to know whether to stay or to go, and a heart to declare Your wondrous works in whatever place You appoint. Direct the heart of his pastor also, and let peace and truth dwell in that congregation. Help him to stand still until You make Your way plain, and to see Your goodness here in the land of the living. For Jesus' sake, who is our only Savior, Amen.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
