Prayer for my ###

Disciple of Prayer
My son ### met on car accident in ###, head injuries in ICU now with head injury and unconscious. Please pray for him to recover quickly and get normal life.

We lift up your son in this deeply distressing time, coming before the throne of grace with heavy hearts yet unwavering faith in the Great Physician. Father God, we know that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We ask You now to stretch forth Your healing hand over this precious young man, who lies unconscious in the ICU. Lord, You formed his inmost being and knit him together in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). You know every cell, every synapse, every breath, nothing is hidden from You. We pray for complete restoration of his brain function, for the swelling to subside, for the bleeding to cease, and for every injury to be mended according to Your perfect will.

We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, he is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your promise that You will restore health and heal wounds (Jeremiah 30:17). We ask for wisdom and skill for the medical team attending to him, that they would be guided by Your Spirit in every decision. Give them clarity, patience, and compassion as they care for him. Lord, we also pray for his family, grant them peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), strength to endure each moment, and faith that does not waver. Let them feel Your presence in the midst of this storm, holding them close when they feel like they are drowning in fear.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and despair in this situation, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that this trial will not break this family but will instead draw them closer to You and to one another. We pray for miracles, Lord, miracles of healing, miracles of hope, and miracles of faith. Even now, we thank You for what You are going to do, for You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).

Father, we also ask that You would use this situation for Your glory. If this young man does not yet know You as his Lord and Savior, we pray that this moment of vulnerability would become a turning point in his life. Draw him to Yourself, reveal Your love to him, and let him experience the saving power of Jesus Christ. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May his recovery, whether swift or gradual, be a testimony to Your goodness and faithfulness.

We commit his care into Your hands, trusting that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Strengthen this family’s faith, Lord, and let them see Your hand at work in ways they never imagined. We pray for his full recovery and restoration, that he may rise from this bed of affliction and walk into the purpose You have for his life. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, believing and expecting Your intervention. Amen.

We cannot imagine how heavy these hours in the ICU must feel for you, waiting, watching, and longing to see your son open his eyes. When someone we love lies unconscious, every minute stretches, and fear can crowd out hope. Please know we are holding you both before God right now, not with polished words but with genuine hearts that ache alongside yours.

In these early days, it may help to simply be present with your son, speaking softly or playing familiar music, things his mind may register even if he cannot respond yet. Let the medical team know you are there, and don’t hesitate to ask them questions so you understand what they are watching for and how you can best advocate for him. Also, let others help you with meals, rest, or just sitting with you. You do not need to carry this alone.

We pray for the skill and wisdom of every doctor and nurse caring for him, and we ask God to bring healing to his brain and body in ways that surprise everyone. But most of all, we pray for your own spirit, that you would sense God’s steady presence in the waiting room, in the middle of the night, in every tear.

Lord Jesus, you know what it is to suffer and to weep. We lift up this precious son to you now. In your mercy, restore consciousness, heal injured tissue, and bring him back to full life. Hold this parent close, calm every anxious thought, and give them the strength for each new hour. We trust you with what we cannot control, and we ask for your healing touch. Amen.

The very hairs of your dear son’s head are all numbered by your Father in heaven. Not a sparrow falls to the ground without Him, and He knows every detail of that bed where your child lies unconscious. You are tempted to see in this a stroke of judgment, but cast that thought far from you. The gospel never calls you to suspect such a thing. Accidents fall upon the just and the unjust; a little infant might be crushed in the same wreck, and none would dare call that babe a worse sinner than the vilest who yet walks in health. Do not let the enemy darken this trial with falsehood.

Yet I bid you look from the injured head of your son to the ever-living Head of the Church. Jesus Christ is the Head, and from Him all the body is supplied and knit together. In union with Him is your hope. The head that now lies bandaged and bruised shall one day be whole, either in this life or in the resurrection, because your son, if he be in Christ, is joined to that glorious Head who is the source of all life and strength. Not a step toward recovery can be taken apart from Him. If the healing is slow, wonder not; with each small increase of strength, acknowledge that the Lord has a new claim upon your affection.

Now, do what the ancient worshipper did: lay your hand, by faith, upon the head of the sacrifice. Put your trust upon Christ your Covenant Head, who bore your griefs and carried your sorrows. He felt wounds upon His own blessed head that He might heal all our infirmities. Trust your child into those pierced hands. The Lord is able to raise him up, to restore his mind and body, and to give back a life of normalcy and service. But if it please the Master to take him home instead, even then no hair of his head shall truly perish, for the body sown in weakness shall be raised in power.

We are praying with you. Keep your eyes upon Jesus, the Head over all things to His Church, and He will bring you through this dark valley.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Please help me put a prayer in for my clumsiness recently. I’ve had more injuries than I’ve had. I’ve cut my finger after that had fell down some stairs and then injured my knee and then after that ended up hitting my shin on something metal.
