Disciple of Prayer
I have a 20-year-old granddaughter who's been battling with anorexia for 4 years. She battles insomnia; she's in menopause because she lost her period a few years ago and she battles with severe OCD, mental torment, insomnia, and self-hatred, self-destructive behavior. We're praying for her total deliverance in the mighty name of Jesus Christ; he's the only one that can set her free. My prayer is that she would want to be free, that she will go to the doctors and get this blood work done that she needs to get done, that she would comply with getting help, therapy, whatever is necessary, but we know ultimately it's the power of the Holy Spirit that's going to set her free in the mighty name of Jesus. Would you please join me in prayer? My heart is breaking for her; she hasn't been to church in a very long time and she's supposed to go to a church tomorrow. I'm praying that the Holy Spirit will be very much in that church and the word of God will go forth and pierce her heart and bring her to surrenderance of her life to the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm praying for her, the scales to fall from her eyes, and praying tonight she will sleep that she would get good solid rest. It's been a long time since she slept; she only gets like 2 hours of sleep a night. Please pray for my granddaughter also for her mother who is my daughter to be patient with her and not to get abusive and to give her the strength to I pray she will be ministered to as well and delivered from the things she needs to be delivered from. And I'm praying for my daughter that lives with me to not gas like me anymore that we would be united. We're both Believers and we love God and we have a Ministry together. I pray for a miracle in my family in Jesus' name.

Oh, how our hearts break with yours for your granddaughter, for we know the deep anguish of watching a beloved child suffer in such bondage. Yet we also rejoice, for you have rightly declared that freedom comes only through the mighty name of Jesus Christ! There is no chain too strong, no torment too deep, that He cannot shatter with His power. Let us stand together in prayer, claiming victory over these afflictions in His name.

The enemy has sought to destroy your granddaughter’s body, mind, and spirit, but we declare that *no weapon formed against her shall prosper* (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Though she has wandered from church and from the Lord’s presence, we pray that tomorrow, as she steps into that place of worship, the Holy Spirit will move mightily upon her. May the Word of God pierce her heart like a sword, exposing every lie of the enemy and revealing the truth: *she is fearfully and wonderfully made* (Psalm 139:14), *redeemed by the blood of the Lamb* (1 Peter 1:18-19), and *called to walk in freedom* (Galatians 5:1).

We pray specifically for her physical body—her sleep, her hormones, her mind—to be restored. The Lord who formed her in the womb can renew her strength (Isaiah 40:31). May she submit to medical help, not as her ultimate hope, but as a tool the Lord can use to bring healing. May she surrender to therapy, to wise counsel, and above all, to the Great Physician, Jesus Christ. For it is *He who heals all your diseases* (Psalm 103:3).

Yet we must also address the spiritual battle at hand. Anorexia, self-hatred, and destructive behaviors are not merely medical issues—they are strongholds of the enemy. We rebuke the spirit of death, of self-destruction, of fear, and of deception in Jesus’ name. We bind the enemy’s lies that tell her she is unworthy, unloved, or beyond hope. *The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; but Jesus came that she may have life, and have it abundantly* (John 10:10). Let her taste and see that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8)!

We also lift up your daughter, her mother, who bears the weight of this burden. May the Lord grant her supernatural patience, wisdom, and grace—not to enable destructive behavior, but to love fiercely while pointing her daughter to Christ. We pray for unity between you and your daughter as well, that the enemy’s schemes to divide would be exposed and broken. *How good and pleasant it is when brothers and sisters live together in unity!* (Psalm 133:1). May your ministry together flourish as a testimony of God’s faithfulness.

Now, let us pray together:

*"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer. Lord, we lift up this precious granddaughter, bound in chains of anorexia, OCD, torment, and self-hatred. You see her suffering, and You are not distant—You are near to the brokenhearted. We ask for a miracle of healing in her body, mind, and spirit. Restore her sleep, Lord, that she may find rest in You. Renew her hormones, her strength, her very will to live abundantly.

Break the power of the enemy over her life. Expose every lie and replace it with Your truth. Draw her back to Yourself, Lord—let her encounter You tomorrow in church in a way she cannot ignore. Soften her heart to receive help, to obey Your leading, and to surrender fully to You.

We also pray for her mother and grandmother—grant them unity, patience, and wisdom. Bind the spirit of division and fill their home with Your peace. Let this family be a testament to Your restoring power.

Lord, we declare that *what the enemy meant for evil, You will turn for good* (Genesis 50:20). Bring beauty from these ashes (Isaiah 61:3). Let this season of suffering become a story of Your redemption.

We ask all this in the name above every name—Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."*

Stand firm, dear sister. The battle is fierce, but the victory is already won. Keep praying, keep speaking life, and trust that the Lord is working even now. *"The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective"* (James 5:16). We are with you in this fight.

We're right there with you, standing in faith for your granddaughter's complete healing. We're claiming victory in Jesus' name, believing that her chains will be broken and she will be set free. We're praying for a mighty move of the Holy Spirit in her life, especially as she attends church tomorrow. Let's agree together that she will encounter God's love and presence in a powerful way, and that the scales will fall from her eyes. We're also lifting up her mother, asking for patience, wisdom, and unity between them. Let's trust that God is working in their lives, even now.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
