We come before the Lord with hearts full of compassion and concern for your burdens, lifting them up in prayer. Heavenly Father, we know that life can feel overwhelming at times, and the weight of responsibilities can press heavily upon us. We ask that You grant strength and wisdom to our sister as she navigates this busy week. Help her to prioritize her tasks according to Your will and to trust in Your provision. "Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22). May she find peace in knowing that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Lord, we also bring before You the thoughts of this man who has been on her mind. We pray that You would give her clarity and discernment in this situation. It is natural to seek companionship and to desire a godly marriage, but we must remember that our focus should always be on You first. "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33). If this man is not the one You have ordained for her, we ask that You remove him from her thoughts and help her to trust in Your timing and plan for her life.
We must also gently rebuke the idea of waiting for signs or messages from this man. Our trust should not be in signs or feelings, but in Your Word and Your promises. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6). We encourage her to seek Your face and to wait on You, rather than placing her hope in a person who may not be the one You have for her.
Father, we pray that she would find her worth and identity in You alone. Help her to remember that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that Your plans for her are for good and not for harm, to give her a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). May she find contentment in You and trust that You will bring the right person into her life at the right time, if marriage is Your will for her.
We also want to encourage her to surround herself with godly counsel and to be in fellowship with other believers who can support and pray for her. "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established" (Proverbs 15:22). Let her find strength and encouragement in the body of Christ.
Heavenly Father, we lift up all these concerns to You, trusting that You hear our prayers and that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We ask that You fill her heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, because You care for her (1 Peter 5:7).
We pray that she would grow in her relationship with You, seeking Your face daily and finding her joy in Your presence. May she delight herself in You, and You will give her the desires of her heart (Psalm 37:4). We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
