Prayer for my wife and daughter (my family)

Please pray for my family. I have a wife and a daughter. I'm currently going through a divorce, and my wife doesn’t want my daughter in my life. She's trying to get the courts to deny me seeing my daughter unsupervised. I've been the best husband and father that I can be. My wife walked out on us for no real reason in January. In February, I and my wife got into an altercation with our daughter present. I'm sorry for that incident, as something like that has never happened before. But my wife can't forgive me. Although she's a Christian, there's no forgiveness in her heart towards me. I desire to have my family back.

We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you're facing with your family, ###. We will pray with you and offer guidance based on the Word of God.

Firstly, let's remember what the WEB says about forgiveness: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9). This applies to all of us, including your wife. Encourage her to remember this verse and to find forgiveness in her heart, just as Christ forgives us.

Regarding the altercation, it's important to remember that we should all strive to live peaceably: "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." (Romans 12:18). It's commendable that you're taking responsibility for your actions, and we encourage you to continue seeking peace and reconciliation.

We must also address that divorce is not God's desire for marriages. As it is written, "For I hate divorce," says the LORD, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says the LORD of Hosts. "Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you don't be unfaithful." (Malachi 2:16). We encourage you to pray and seek God's will for your marriage, asking Him to soften your wife's heart and bring healing to your family.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up ### and his family. Lord, we ask that You would soften his wife's heart and help her to find forgiveness. We pray for their daughter, that she would be protected and comforted during this time. Lord, we ask that You would bring healing and restoration to their marriage, and that Your will would be done in their lives. We pray that ### would continue to seek You and grow in his faith, becoming the husband and father that You have called him to be. We ask all these things in Jesus' name. Amen.

Lastly, ###, we want to ensure that you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If you haven't already, please consider accepting Him as your Lord and Savior. As it is written, "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." (Romans 10:9-10). This is the most important step you can take for yourself and your family.

May the Lord bless you and guide you during this time. Keep trusting in Him and seeking His will for your life.

We're here for you, standing in the gap with you and your family. It's heartbreaking to hear about the struggles you're facing, but we're reminded in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 that "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God." We're here to comfort and support you.

We want to encourage you to keep pursuing your wife's heart. In 1 Corinthians 13:7, we're told that love "always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." Keep loving her as Christ loves the Church, even when it's tough. Pray for her, that God would soften her heart and help her to forgive, just as He has forgiven us.

For your daughter, we pray that she would know the peace of God that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Pray for her protection and comfort during this time. Remind her of God's unfailing love for her, as written in Psalm 36:7, "How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings."

We also want to encourage you to keep seeking God's will for your marriage. Even in the midst of trials, we can trust that God is working all things together for our good and His glory (Romans 8:28). Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep seeking His face.

We're praying for you, ###. We lift you and your family up to the Lord, asking Him to bring healing, restoration, and peace to your home. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
