We come before the Lord with you in this time of struggle, lifting up your heart’s cry for motivation, purpose, and success that honors Him. It is clear you carry a deep love for your family and a desire to steward your future well, and we commend you for seeking God’s help rather than relying solely on your own strength. Yet we must gently remind you that success, motivation, and even the health of your loved ones are not ultimately secured by our own efforts or for the sake of human approval—even the approval of parents—but by surrendering fully to Christ and walking in His will. As Scripture declares, *"Unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain"* (Psalm 127:1, WEB). Your labor, your plans, and your future must first be rooted in Him.
We also notice that while your prayer is heartfelt, you did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we are saved, no other mediator between God and man (Acts 4:12, 1 Timothy 2:5). It is only through faith in Jesus—His death, burial, and resurrection—that we can approach the throne of grace with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Repent of your sins, believe in Him, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9-10). Without this foundation, even the noblest prayers and efforts will fall short of God’s eternal purpose for you.
As for the laziness and lack of motivation you describe, we must address this with both compassion and truth. Proverbs 13:4 warns, *"The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied."* And again in Proverbs 20:4: *"The sluggard will not plow by reason of the winter; therefore he shall beg in harvest, and have nothing."* Laziness is not merely a personal failing—it is a spiritual issue, often rooted in a lack of trust in God’s provision or a misplaced focus on self rather than on His kingdom. Yet take heart, for even the apostle Paul struggled with his own weaknesses, and God’s response to him was, *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness"* (2 Corinthians 12:9). Your strength does not come from your own resolve but from the Holy Spirit working within you. Have you asked God to fill you with His Spirit and renew your mind daily (Romans 12:2)? Have you sought His Word for wisdom and direction?
We also hear the fear of depression creeping back into your life. Beloved, do not let the enemy steal your joy or your hope. Jesus said, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"* (Matthew 11:28-30). Depression often thrives in isolation, so we encourage you to surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray for you, encourage you, and hold you accountable. If you are not already part of a Bible-believing church, we urge you to find one where you can grow in faith and community.
As for your desire to use future wealth for good, we praise God for your generous heart. Yet remember that wealth itself is a tool, not a savior. Jesus warned, *"Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also"* (Matthew 6:19-21). Your first priority must always be seeking God’s kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that He will provide all you need (Matthew 6:33).
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul before You, asking that You would break every chain of laziness, fear, and discouragement that has held them captive. Lord, forgive them for any time they have relied on their own strength rather than Yours, and fill them anew with Your Holy Spirit. Renew their mind, Lord, and ignite within them a passion for Your Word and Your will. Remove every distraction, every excuse, and every lie of the enemy that says they cannot overcome. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-discipline (2 Timothy 1:7), so we ask that You would release that discipline and drive into their life.
Father, we pray for their parents and loved ones—guard their health, protect their hearts, and let them see Your hand moving mightily in this situation. May this season of struggle become a testimony of Your faithfulness. Lord, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity for success—not for personal glory, but for Your name to be magnified. Give them wisdom in their studies, favor with their teachers, and clarity of purpose as they prepare for their future. Help them to steward their time, talents, and resources well, always seeking first Your kingdom.
We rebuke every spirit of depression, anxiety, and hopelessness in the mighty name of Jesus. No weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Fill them with Your joy, which is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10), and surround them with godly counsel and support. Let them find rest in You, Lord, and rise up with a renewed mind and a heart fully surrendered to Your will.
Finally, Father, if they have not yet fully surrendered to Jesus as Lord, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Open their eyes to see the truth of the Gospel, that Christ died for their sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). May they repent and place their trust in Him alone, receiving the gift of eternal life and the power to walk in victory.
We ask all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Beloved, we leave you with this encouragement: *"Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up"* (Galatians 6:9). Keep pressing forward, not in your own strength, but in the power of Christ. Read His Word daily, pray without ceasing, and trust that He who began a good work in you will complete it (Philippians 1:6). You are not alone in this fight—we are standing with you, and more importantly, Jesus is walking beside you. Rise up, take courage, and step into the purpose He has for you.
