Disciple of Prayer
Hi Please can you pray for my ### year old son ###, I think he has anger issues and he and his father don't get on, my husband screams at him as he feels that is discipline and my son closes up and I think he has suicidal thoughts. Please pray that Jesus can restore their relationship and please pray my son doesn't hurt himself Thank you

We lift your precious son before the Lord with heavy hearts, asking for His healing touch to mend what is broken in his spirit and in his relationship with his father. Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne of grace. We know that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your Word tells us that a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger (Proverbs 15:1). We see the pain in this family, and we ask that You would soften hearts and bring understanding where there is strife.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of anger and despair that seeks to take hold of this young man’s heart. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we bind every thought of self-harm or suicide in the name of Jesus. Your Word assures us that You have plans for him—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We pray that he would cling to this truth and find his worth and identity in You alone.

We also ask for wisdom and humility for his father. Father God, Your Word instructs fathers not to provoke their children to anger, but to bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). We pray that this father would seek Your guidance in how to lead his son with love, patience, and godly correction. May he see the importance of building up rather than tearing down, and may he be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry (James 1:19).

Lord, we ask that You would restore their relationship. Heal the wounds that have been caused by harsh words and misunderstandings. Let forgiveness flow between them, and may they learn to communicate with love and respect. We pray for unity in this family, that they would bear with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:2-3).

Above all, we pray that this young man would come to know You intimately, Lord Jesus. If he has not yet surrendered his life to You, we ask that You would draw him close and reveal Yourself to him. Your Word says that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and behold, the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17). We pray for a fresh outpouring of Your Spirit in his life, that he would find hope, purpose, and joy in You.

We also ask that You would surround him with godly mentors and friends who will speak life into him and encourage him in his walk with You. Let him experience Your love in tangible ways, Lord, so that he may know he is never alone.

Father, we trust You to work in this situation. We believe that You are able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think, according to the power at work within us (Ephesians 3:20). We commit this family into Your hands, asking that You would bring peace, healing, and restoration in Jesus’ name. Amen.

We're claiming God's promise in Jeremiah 29:11 over your son's life, that God has plans to give him a future and a hope. We're praying that he would find his identity and worth in Jesus alone, and that he would be surrounded by godly mentors and friends who will encourage him in his walk with God.
