Beloved of All
Lord please pray for my son who is so obsessed with the toxic relationship he is in that he does not want to let go. He has let go of a good job and does not seem interested in building a good future or staying in his job paying all his debts and bills. He is not letting go or accepting that the relationship needs to end. His toxic partner does not want him but he just won't accept it. He is causing so much pain and grief for himself and us his family won't listen to any advise just has no interest in life and is causing us his parents and his brothers so much pain and grief. Please pray that he comes to his senses and see the unhappiness and grief he is causing to his parents and brother. We just don't know how to help him. Please pray for him that he seeks help and comes out of this obsession, changes his way and moves forward in building a good life. Please hear my plea I need your prayers for my son. Amen

We join with you in lifting up your son before the Lord, for we know that God’s heart is moved by the earnest prayers of His people. Your pain as parents is deeply felt, and we stand with you in intercession, trusting that the Lord will break the chains of this toxic obsession and restore your son to a place of clarity, purpose, and godly devotion.

First, we must address the spiritual reality of this situation. Your son is ensnared by a relationship that is not only emotionally destructive but also contrary to God’s design for healthy, Christ-centered relationships. The Bible warns us in 2 Corinthians 6:14, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* While we do not know if this individual is an unbeliever, the toxicity and ungodly influence in this relationship are evident. It is leading your son away from responsibility, financial stewardship, and the love of his family—all of which are biblical priorities. Proverbs 13:20 tells us, *"One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm."* Your son’s attachment to this person is causing him great harm, and it is our prayer that the Lord will open his eyes to see the truth before him.

We also recognize the danger of idolatry in this situation. When a person becomes so consumed by a relationship that they abandon their responsibilities, family, and even their own well-being, that relationship has become an idol—a false god that has taken the place of the one true God. Exodus 20:3 commands, *"You shall have no other gods before me."* Your son’s obsession has become a stronghold, and we must pray for the Lord to break it. Only when he surrenders this to God can he find true freedom. Jesus said in John 8:32, *"You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."*

Additionally, we must address the spiritual condition of your son’s heart. If he is not walking closely with the Lord, this is the root of his struggle. Without Christ as his foundation, he will continue to seek fulfillment in broken, worldly things. We pray that if he has not already, he will repent and turn fully to Jesus, for it is only in Christ that we find true peace, purpose, and direction. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If your son is not grounded in faith, now is the time for him to cry out to Jesus, who alone can deliver him from this bondage.

We also encourage you, as his parents, to continue speaking truth in love, even if he resists. Do not grow weary in praying for him, for the effective, fervent prayer of the righteous accomplishes much (James 5:16). At the same time, we urge you to set healthy boundaries. Enabling his irresponsibility—whether financially or emotionally—will only prolong his struggle. Proverbs 19:18 says, *"Discipline your son, for there is hope; don’t be a willing party to his death."* Sometimes, love requires tough decisions that lead a person to face the consequences of their choices, which can be the very thing that drives them to seek God.

Now, let us pray together for your son:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious son who is bound by the chains of a toxic and ungodly obsession. Lord, we ask that You break every stronghold in his mind and heart that keeps him trapped in this destructive cycle. Open his eyes, Lord, to see the truth—that this relationship is not from You and is leading him away from Your perfect will for his life. Convict his heart, Holy Spirit, and draw him back to Yourself. If he has strayed from You, Lord, bring him to repentance and a deep, saving faith in Jesus Christ.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of obsession, confusion, and deception that has taken hold of him. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we command every ungodly soul tie to be broken in the name of Jesus. Restore his mind, Lord, and renew his strength. Give him the courage to walk away from this toxicity and the wisdom to seek godly counsel and support.

We pray for his financial and emotional restoration. Help him to take responsibility for his debts and commitments, and provide him with opportunities to rebuild his life in a way that honors You. Surround him with godly influences—mentors, friends, and brothers in Christ who will speak truth into his life and encourage him to walk in Your ways.

Lord, we also lift up this family, who is grieving and burdened by this situation. Comfort them, Father, and give them Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen them to continue praying and standing in faith, even when they see no immediate change. Help them to trust You fully, knowing that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).

Finally, Father, we ask that You place a godly desire in your son’s heart—a desire for a future that aligns with Your Word. If it is Your will, bring a godly spouse into his life, one who will encourage him in faith and help him grow in Christ. But first, Lord, deliver him from this bondage and restore him to a place of wholeness in You.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your power to save, deliver, and restore. May Your will be done in his life, and may Your name be glorified through this situation. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Stand firm in your faith, dear parents. Do not lose heart, for the Lord is fighting for your son. Continue to cover him in prayer, speak life into his situation, and trust that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We will continue to lift him up in prayer, believing for his complete deliverance and restoration.
