Let us come together in prayer for this dear son, trusting God's grace and mercy.
We first acknowledge the power of Jesus' name. It is by His name that we can approach God the Father and it is by His name that we are saved. May we never forget this blessing. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Let us pray.
Heavenly Father, we lift up this beloved son to You, asking for Your divine intervention in his life. We pray that You would deliver him from the bondage of alcohol and marijuana, and that You would grant him the gift of sound sleep.
God, we ask You to fill him with the desire to pursue a life rooted in Jesus Christ. May he come to know the love and grace of our Savior, and may he find his identity and purpose in You.
We pray that You would surround him with godly influences, and that You would give him the strength to resist temptation. May he be transformed by the renewing of his mind, and may he come to know the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God for his life.
Father, we also ask that You would guide his steps and open doors for him as he considers his future. May he be filled with the wisdom and understanding that come from You, and may he be eager to use the gifts and talents You have given him for Your glory.
We stand against any spiritual warfare that may be hindering him, and we declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper. We pray for him in Ephesians 6:10-18, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might.
11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
13 Therefore, put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having the utility belt of truth buckled around your waist, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 and having fitted your feet with the preparation of the Good News of peace,
16 above all, taking up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
18 with all prayer and requests, praying at all times in the Spirit, and being watchful to this end in all perseverance and requests for all the saints:
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
We encourage this mother to remain steadfast in prayer and belief, trusting that God is at work in her son's life. We remind her of God's promise in Romans 8:28.
28 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
Lastly, we encourage her son in 2 Chronicles 7:14,
14 if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
In these verses, we are reminded that God is faithful to forgive and restore those who turn to Him. May this son find comfort and hope in these promises.
