Your prayer for your son reflects a father's and mother's heart that God delights in, and it is right to bring this decision before the Lord.
Scripture teaches that wisdom is the principal thing. Knowledge gives us facts, but wisdom knows what to do with what we know. It is the right application of knowledge to life. The book of Proverbs was written for this very purpose, to help us know wisdom and instruction, and it speaks again and again as a father to a son, saying hear the instruction of your father and do not forsake what you have been taught. The promise is that if we incline our ear to wisdom, apply our heart to understanding, and cry out for knowledge as for treasure, the Lord will give it. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and in Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
That is the wisdom your son needs now, not the wisdom of this world which often measures success only by immediate gain. The wisdom that comes from above is different. It dwells with prudence, it hates what is evil, and it leads to purity and peace rather than to envy and strife. The world by its own wisdom did not know God, and God has shown that kind of wisdom to be empty. True wisdom comes from God and gives life to those who have it.
Proverbs also says wisdom is better than rubies and nothing we desire can compare with it. Money is a defense and it is needed, but wisdom is also a defense and its excellence is that it preserves and gives life. Through wisdom a house is built, and a life is built. It takes wisdom to look beyond today and to consider how to build a stable future with strength and understanding. A father rejoices when his son walks in wisdom and speaks what is right, and to buy truth and wisdom and not sell it is one of the most valuable choices a young man can make.
In your son's situation this means looking past only the amount of the paycheck. A job that offers less pay at first but provides for health, for protection, and for the years ahead may be the more prudent and wise path. Wisdom helps a person count the long term cost and benefit, not just the immediate return. It helps him ask what will build a stronger foundation for the years to come and what will honor the Lord with a steady and faithful life.
We will pray that the Lord grants him that kind of wisdom. May God give him a heart to seek counsel from the Lord first, to ask for wisdom generously as James promises God will give to all who ask, and to listen for the Lord's direction. May he be kept from hasty decisions driven only by what looks best for the moment, and may he be led to the place where he can provide faithfully, grow in character, and walk in the ways of the Lord.

Teach him to fear You and to trust Your leading. Grant him clear discernment to weigh this decision with prudence, to value what is truly valuable, and to choose the path that will build his life on a firm foundation. Give his parents peace as they entrust him to Your care. Lead him step by step, and may his choice bring honor to You and joy to his family. In the name of Jesus we ask this, amen.
