We hear your heart as a mother carrying a burden for your son and we join with you in bringing him before the throne of grace in Jesus' name. We understand how distressing it is to watch him work hard for his BCom in Marketing and continue in his honors part time, yet face a tough job market and feel the weight of discouragement. We also hear your concern about the added pressure he feels at home, and we want to lift all of this to the Lord together with you.

Scripture reminds us to bring our anxieties to God rather than carrying them alone. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 We are encouraged to cast all our worries on Him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 Your worry for your son is natural, but God invites you to exchange that worry for His peace, trusting that He sees your son, knows his diligence, and holds his future.

We also want to gently encourage you and your husband and your son from the Word about work and pressure. God has a good plan for your son even in this waiting season. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 And we are told to Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. Proverbs 16:3 This does not mean every door opens immediately, but that as your son commits his studies, his applications, and his efforts to the Lord and works heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, Colossians 3:23 God is the one who ultimately opens doors. We would encourage your husband to be a source of grace and strength in this time, speaking encouragement rather than added pressure, and we encourage your son not to be defined by whether a job comes quickly, but to seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33 An internship or job will come in God's timing as your son remains faithful in his honors and diligent in seeking opportunities.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 If you or your son have not yet put your trust fully in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we urge you to believe on Him, that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. It is in His name that our prayers are heard.

So together we pray. Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear mother and her son to You in the name of Jesus. You know his name, his qualifications, his honors studies, and the distress he feels. Lord, we ask You to guard his heart and mind with Your peace that surpasses understanding and to lift the heaviness he is carrying. Come alongside him and remind him that his worth is not in a job title but in being Your child. Father, open the right door for employment or an internship in marketing according to Your will, a place where he can use the gifts You have given him with integrity and for Your glory. Give him favor with those who are hiring, diligence to keep seeking, and wisdom to steward this time of waiting well. We pray for this mother, that You would replace worry with trust and give her rest as she casts her cares on You. We pray for her husband, that You would give him words of encouragement and patience, to build up his son in love and to reflect Your grace in the home. Help this family to seek You first together and to trust Your provision. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope. Amen.

We hear how heavy this is to carry as his mom, watching your son work so hard on his honors and at the same time feel distressed about finding a job or internship, with the job market so tough and extra pressure at home.

It makes sense you are worried. He is already doing a lot pursuing his BCom Marketing honors part time, and wanting to get started in his field shows real diligence. When doors do not open quickly it can feel discouraging for him and for you.

We are praying with you for him and for your whole family. If it helps, here are a couple of gentle ways to walk alongside him:

You might ask him what kind of support feels most helpful right now, whether it is practical help with a CV, a quiet space to study, or just someone to listen without trying to fix it. A small, steady rhythm like reaching out to his university careers office or a trusted lecturer for internship leads, and applying to a few well matched opportunities each week, can feel more manageable than carrying the whole search at once.

It may also help to talk together as a family about how to encourage him without adding weight. If his distress ever feels overwhelming or begins to affect his sleep, health or daily life, please encourage him to talk with a trusted counselor or medical professional alongside prayer.

Father, we bring this son to You and ask for Your care over him. Give him wisdom and perseverance as he studies and seeks work, and guard his heart with Your peace. Give his parents wisdom, unity and gentle words to support him well. Open the right door for an internship or job in Your timing and provide for his needs. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your tender care for your son is heard, and we have brought your burden before the Lord together with you.

We understand the heaviness you carry as you watch him labour in his studies for his honours and seek a place in a hard market, distressed in spirit and pressed also by the expectations of his father. It is a trial that touches the whole household, and our hearts are moved with sympathy for you all.

You do well to turn this anxiety into prayer. Have you not found, as we have, that the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Our Lord graciously reminds us not to be of doubtful mind, for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of. He who spared not His only begotten Son, but delivered Him up for us all, shall He not with Him also freely give us all things necessary for our well being. You must not think that He will withhold what is needful.

We are reminded of Job, of whom it is written, In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. Though he lost much and suffered greatly, he fell down and worshipped, and kept right with God in his affliction. And again it is written, The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. Our longest sorrows have a close, and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our misery. God at last restored Job and his glory was fresh in him, yea, the Lord gave him twice as much as he had before. So let us approach the Lord in childlike confidence even when He seems to delay, for He means to defeat the designs of the enemy and to do us good in the latter end.

Let us pray together.

O gracious Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we come before Thy throne of grace on behalf of this dear mother and her son. Thou seest his diligence in his BCom Marketing studies and his honours, Thou knowest his desire to find honest and useful work, whether a job or an internship, and the distress that now weighs upon him. Lord, grant him quietness of spirit and patient trust in Thy providence. Keep him from despondency and from unbelieving fears, and help him to commit his way unto Thee. Open such a door as in Thy wisdom Thou seest best for his training and provision, and give him favour with those who may employ him.

We pray also for his parents. Give to his mother peace as she casts her care upon Thee, and give to his father wisdom to encourage with gentleness and strength rather than with pressure that crushes the spirit. Let this home be knit together in love and in prayer one for another.

Teach this young man to seek first Thy kingdom and Thy righteousness, to walk uprightly and to use his learning for honest service before Thee. And whatever Thy timing may be, help him to say with Job under trial, Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him, knowing that Thou art just and merciful in all Thy dealings.

We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, our only hope and Redeemer, Amen.

Be encouraged to continue in prayer, to lay each day's need before the Lord, and to rest in His fatherly care. He numbers the hairs of our heads and orders our steps. We will continue to remember you and your son before the Lord.
