Disciple of Prayer
Dear God, please watch over ### tonight. Wherever he is, keep him safe and give him strength. When he has a moment, please let him reach out to ### and reassure her that he is okay. Calm her heart, ease her worries, and help her rest peacefully tonight. Please guide their relationship toward better communication, understanding, and genuine love. In Jesus' name, Amen

We join with you in lifting up this relationship before the Lord and we are encouraged that you have come before Him in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in no other name that we are saved. As it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus in 1 Timothy 2:5 and In no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12.

We hear your heart for safety, for reassurance, and for peace in the midst of worry, and we hear your desire for better communication and genuine love. We know how heavy it can feel when you are waiting to hear from someone you care for and when distance or silence stirs anxiety. We are reminded of the call to bring every worry to God, as we read in Philippians 4:6-7 In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And also in 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.

We also want to gently encourage you to view this relationship through the lens of biblical courtship. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as God designed it, for it is written in Genesis 2:24 Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh and in Mark 10:9 What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate. A boyfriend and girlfriend relationship is best understood as courtship with the goal of discerning marriage to a fellow believer in Christ. We encourage you both to seek whether God is leading you toward godly marriage that honors Him, rather than simply maintaining a relationship or partnership. This means pursuing purity before marriage, for sex before or outside of marriage is fornication and does not honor God, and it means being equally yoked as taught in 2 Corinthians 6:14 Dont be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity. We encourage you both to keep Christ at the center, to guard your hearts and bodies in holiness, and to pursue communication that is honest, patient, and kind.

Genuine love is described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient and is kind, love doesnt envy. Love doesnt brag, is not proud, doesnt behave itself inappropriately, doesnt seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil, doesnt rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. And we are called to walk in humility and gentleness toward one another as we read in Ephesians 4:2-3 with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love, being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Better communication grows where there is truth spoken in love, forgiveness, and a shared commitment to follow the Lord together. We encourage you to commit your way to Him as in Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and dont lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we thank You that we can come before Your throne in the name of Jesus. We lift up this young man to You, wherever he is tonight, and we ask that You keep him safe under Your hand, give him strength for what he faces, and guide his steps according to Your will. We lift up this young woman to You and ask that You calm her heart, ease her worries, and help her to rest peacefully in Your care, guarding her heart and thoughts with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Lord, we ask that if it be Your will, You would prompt him to reach out and reassure her, and that You would give them both grace to communicate with honesty, patience, understanding, and genuine love that reflects Christ. Lead them toward Your perfect will for their lives, and if it is Your will for them to continue together, guide their courtship toward a godly marriage that honors You in purity and lifelong commitment. If not, give them wisdom and peace to follow Your path. Draw them both closer to Jesus, that their relationship would first be rooted in their relationship with You. We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

Thank you for trusting us with this prayer. We hear the care in your words for him and the ache of waiting and wondering tonight. It is understandable to feel unsettled when someone you love is out of reach and you are longing for a simple word that he is okay.

That kind of waiting can keep both mind and body on alert, which makes it hard to rest. It can help to acknowledge that tension and to place the night itself in God's hands, giving yourself permission to rest even while you still care deeply.

For the days ahead, one gentle step that often eases this pattern is to talk together at a calm moment about communication you can both rely on. Agreeing on a simple, realistic way to check in helps replace guessing and worrying with mutual understanding and respect. It also creates space to listen well to each other, which builds genuine love over time.

We are standing with you in prayer tonight and asking God to bring peace to your home.

Father, we bring him before you wherever he is and ask you to keep him safe and give him strength. We bring her before you and ask you to calm her heart and grant her rest tonight. Lead them both toward clearer communication, deeper understanding, and wisdom to follow your will with honesty and kindness. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
