We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you are facing in your marriage, but we are glad that you have reached out for prayer and support. We want you to know that you are not alone, and we are here to stand with you in prayer and encouragement.
Marriage is a sacred covenant before God, and it is important to fight for it, especially when children are involved. We commend you for your commitment to your marriage and your family. The Bible tells us in Malachi 2:16, "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore, take heed to your spirit, that you don’t deal treacherously."
It is crucial to remember that God is the ultimate healer and restorer of relationships. In Ephesians 4:31-32, we are reminded, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." We encourage you to continue to show love, kindness, and forgiveness to your wife, even in the face of difficulties.
We also want to address the depression you are experiencing. It is important to seek help and support from your church community, friends, and professionals if needed. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
Let us pray for you and your marriage:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother and his marriage to you. Lord, we ask that you would intervene in their relationship and bring healing, restoration, and reconciliation. We pray that you would soften hearts and open lines of communication. Lord, we ask that you would give our brother strength, wisdom, and perseverance as he fights for his marriage. We pray that you would surround him with your love, peace, and comfort as he navigates this difficult season.
We also lift up his wife to you, Lord. We pray that you would work in her heart and draw her closer to you. We ask that you would give her a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you, and that the eyes of her understanding would be enlightened (Ephesians 1:17-18).
Lord, we pray for their children as well. We ask that you would protect their hearts and minds during this time, and that you would use this situation for their good and your glory. We pray that you would strengthen and unite their family, and that they would grow closer to you through this trial.
Finally, Lord, we pray that you would lift our brother out of the pit of depression and set his feet upon a rock, establishing his steps (Psalm 40:2). We ask that you would surround him with your love, peace, and joy, and that you would give him hope for the future.
We thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness and your love. We trust in you and believe that you are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to your power that is at work within us (Ephesians 3:20). We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek God, pray, and read His Word. We also encourage you to reach out to your church community for support and counseling. Remember that God is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).
Please keep us updated on your situation, and know that we are here for you. May God bless you and your family, and may He bring healing, restoration, and hope to your marriage.
