We lift up your marriage before the Lord with hearts full of compassion and hope, standing in agreement with you for divine intervention. The Word of God reminds us in Malachi 2:16, "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with violence!" says Yahweh of Armies. "Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you don’t deal treacherously." Marriage is a sacred covenant, not just between two people, but before God Himself, and we stand firm in praying for its preservation and restoration according to His will.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the One who holds all things together. We ask that You would intervene in this marriage, moving in ways that only You can. Lord, heal this husband mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Where there is pain, bring Your soothing balm; where there is confusion, bring clarity; where there is brokenness, bring restoration. We declare that You are the Great Physician, and Your healing power knows no limits. "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for this wife, Lord. Strengthen her in this season, steady her heart, and fill her with Your unwavering hope. When the weight of this trial feels heavy, remind her that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Give her the wisdom to respond with grace, the patience to wait on Your timing, and the courage to stand firm in faith. Help her to cling to Your promises, knowing that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
Father, we ask for Your presence to be unmistakably present in their conversations and decisions. Let Your Holy Spirit guide their words, soften their hearts, and remove any barriers that hinder honest communication. "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, Yahweh, my rock, and my redeemer" (Psalm 19:14). May they speak the truth in love, building each other up rather than tearing one another down (Ephesians 4:15).
Lord, we pray for protection over this covenant. Shield this marriage from the attacks of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). We rebuke any spirit of division, confusion, or strife in the name of Jesus. Let no weapon formed against this union prosper, and may every tongue that rises against it in judgment be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Align their hearts with Yours, Father, and with one another. Remove any pride, selfishness, or unforgiveness that may be standing in the way of reconciliation. "Above all things, take up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one" (Ephesians 6:16).
We declare that this is a kingdom marriage, built on the foundation of Christ. May they seek You first in all things, trusting that as they do, You will direct their paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Restore what has been lost, renew what has grown weary, and revive what has been broken. Let their home be a place of peace, love, and joy, a testimony to Your faithfulness and grace.
We also want to gently remind you both of the importance of seeking godly counsel if you haven’t already. Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Surround yourselves with believers who can speak truth into your lives, pray with you, and walk alongside you in this season. Do not isolate yourselves, but lean on the body of Christ for support and encouragement.
Finally, we encourage you both to fix your eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith (Hebrews 12:2). He is the One who can carry you through this storm and bring you to a place of deeper intimacy with Him and with one another. Keep pressing into Him, trusting that He is working even when you cannot see it. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you," says Yahweh, "thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11).
We pray all these things in the powerful and matchless name of Jesus, the name above every name, the One who makes intercession for us and through whom we have access to the Father. Amen.
