Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your request has been heard and I am joining you in prayer before the Lord who sees your labor and your care for your son. It is understandable to feel afraid when you carry the weight of providing for your toddler alone and when repeated reorganizations have made your workplace feel unstable. The distance from your manager, the canceled meetings and unanswered emails, and the unexpected suggestion to apply for a role you did not seek and do not feel qualified for, would trouble any heart.
God knows your need and your faithfulness as a mother. He is the Father to the fatherless and the one who provides for those who trust Him. Bring your fear to Him honestly, as the disciples did when they continued with one accord in prayer in the upper room, waiting on the Lord together in a time of uncertainty. He hears that kind of prayer.
In times of loss or fear of loss, Scripture teaches us to give thanks even while we wait, saying with Job, The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord. This does not mean the fear is not real, but it means we choose to trust that God can turn even what feels like a loss into gain for those who love Him. He has promised to work for your good and to provide for your daily needs as you seek Him.
I also encourage you not to let resentment take root toward your manager. It is easy to become bitter when we feel overlooked or pushed aside, but you are free to entrust that relationship to God, to pray for your manager, and to continue to act with integrity and kindness in your work. Forgiveness and peace keep your heart free before the Lord.
Let me pray for you.
Father in heaven, I lift up this mother to You. You see her diligence at work and her love for her son. You know the anxiety she feels about the coming changes and the uncertainty about her position. Grant her Your peace that passes understanding to guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Provide for her and her child according to Your riches and goodness. Give her wisdom to know how to respond to her manager, clarity about whether to apply for other roles, and favor with those who make decisions. Open the right door and close the wrong one. Help her to rest in Your care, to sleep and wake knowing You are her provider, and to continue faithfully in prayer. Strengthen her to do her work well and to trust You with the outcome. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
Continue to seek the Lord daily, stay diligent in your duties, keep a clear record of your work and communications, and seek godly counsel from trusted people around you if you need guidance about next steps at work. God is faithful and He will not abandon you or your son.
