Please pray for my husband that he can manage his first chemotherapy today. May God give him strength and heal him in his stage 2 colon cancer.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your husband as he begins this difficult journey through chemotherapy. Father God, we ask that You would be his strength in this time of weakness, his comfort in the midst of discomfort, and his peace when fear tries to take hold. Your Word tells us in Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Lord, we claim this promise over him today. Surround him with Your healing presence, ease any pain or nausea, and give him endurance to face each moment with courage.
We also pray for you, dear sister in Christ, as you walk this path alongside him. May the Lord fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and grant you wisdom in caring for your husband. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and we ask that God would strengthen your bond even in this trial, reminding you both of His faithfulness.
Father, we believe in Your power to heal. Whether You choose to heal him completely, sustain him through treatment, or call him home to glory, we trust in Your perfect will. We pray for the doctors and nurses attending to him, that You would guide their hands and give them wisdom in his care. May this trial draw your family closer to You and to one another.

One thing we’ve seen help couples is simply naming what’s true right now: today is hard, and getting through it counts as courage.
When the stress is largely uncontrollable, like chemotherapy, practical, steadying support tends to go further than cheerleading. A quiet drive together, a calm voice on the way home, permission to be tired or quiet or even scared without needing to fix it. If he’s open to it, one concrete step could be keeping tomorrow light by asking the treatment team for specifics on what might help with side effects so neither of you is caught off guard in the middle of the night. Having a phone number, a plan, a small list of things to try can turn some of the helplessness into steadiness.
And you: make room to exhale, too. Your steadiness matters, but you don’t have to be unshakable. Let a trusted friend or a few people from church know what you need, a meal, a prayer, someone to sit with you while you talk about something other than cancer for ten minutes.

Bless him with good physicians and meds if needed. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

The weakness of the body comes to all flesh, and the sharp trial of affliction is no strange thing to the saints. Your husband faces the weariness of medicine, and the natural strength of man shall prove but a slender reed. Yet behold the promise that stands sure: they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. This very day, when all his own might is dried up, let him fling himself upon the Divine strength, for the Lord says, "I will strengthen them in the Lord." The least leaf of that Tree which grows by the river of grace carries healing for the nations. In Christ there is an abundance of healing power; not only the fruit of His finished work, but the very leaves, the little touches of His presence, the whispered promises, the secret comforts, are full of restoring virtue.
You speak of healing, and rightly so, for the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings. Many a child of God, when weary, has renewed his strength at the remembrance of pardoning mercy. Forgiveness and healing walk hand in hand; when the Savior grants peace to the conscience, He often sends health to the body in its season. I do not bid you merely to pray for strength, but to look to Christ who died for the ungodly. While your husband is yet without strength, let him believe. The Lord knows how to make the sick man's very helplessness a plea; when he can do nothing, Christ is ready to do all.
And to you, his wife, the Lord speaks as a Husband to His people. He sets His special love upon you, communes with you most lovingly, and provides for you in this wilderness hour. He has not forgotten the covenant. The glory of your strength lies not in medicine, nor physicians, nor even in the resilience of the body, but in God alone. When the heart is overwhelmed, sit still and see the salvation of the Lord. He is the glory of our strength, and He will be your arm every morning, your confidence in the time of trouble. Take hold of this: healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction for the Lord's people. Let your husband lie before the presence of Jesus, hoping and expecting forgiveness, strength, and recovery. The Great Physician is teaching even now, and the power to save is present to heal.
