We join with you in prayer during this difficult season of job loss and health uncertainty, and we bring your needs for health, finances, and love before our Heavenly Father together in Jesus' name.
We are encouraged that your heart longs for a devoted and loving spouse, for children, and for a marriage that endures through lows and grows more resilient, for this desire aligns with God's good design. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as outlined in the Bible. Therefore we pray not simply for a partner or a relationship, but for a godly spouse, and we encourage you to pursue courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer. The Word tells us, Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14, and Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh. Proverbs 18:22. Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh. Genesis 2:24. If you are entering courtship, we encourage you to guard that time for purity, for sex before or outside of marriage is fornication and does not honor God, and to seek a spouse who loves the Lord first so that your future marriage may honor Him.
We also hear your longing for stability, for travel, good food, and peace and happiness. These are good gifts, but true peace and resilience are found not in circumstances but in Christ. We gently encourage you to seek first God's Kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33. When we make our ultimate aim to know Christ and to glorify Him, He shapes our desires and gives us joy even in waiting and hardship. Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2-4.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to God and that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is by placing our faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that our prayers are heard and our future is secure, regardless of job or health.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus. You see the stress of financial instability after job loss and You know the fear and questions that come with a medical condition requiring surgery. We ask for Your healing hand upon this body, for wisdom and skill for the surgeons and doctors, and for complete recovery according to Your will. You heal the broken in heart, and bind up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. We ask that You would not let fear rule, for You have said, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10.
Lord, we ask for Your provision for finances and employment. Open the door to a stable, well-paying job that uses the gifts You have given and allows faithful stewardship. We trust Your promise that my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19. Help this one to cast all anxiety on You, for In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7.
And Father, we pray for a godly marriage. If it is Your will, lead this one to a devoted, loving Christian spouse of the opposite sex who will be a lifelong companion, to build a Christ-centered marriage and to raise children in Your ways. Prepare both hearts in purity and maturity while waiting, and help any courtship to be centered on You with marriage as the goal. Teach resilience that comes from You, so that trials would strengthen love rather than weaken it. We trust that For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11.
We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and our only hope, amen.
We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer, in the Word, and in fellowship with other believers while you wait for healing and provision. Keep seeking the Lord daily, trust Him with your timeline for a job and for a spouse, and allow Him to use this season of uncertainty to deepen your faith and to make you more resilient in Christ.
