Prayer for my grandpa (or Abuelo)

He is currently in the ICU, they had to immediately intubate him to help him breathe and we just need prayer for healing. Something you should know: -he breathes with an oxygen machine regularly, it’s been one year since he was in the CCU for a collapsed lung and a hole in his lung. We didn’t think he would make it and then he miraculously got so much better. We are now in that same boat again they identified this as an infection in his lungs this time. Please pray that his numbers just rise and a miracle happens and they can just give him his oxygen through the nose instead of through intubation. He is terrified of hospitals and I just want to make sure we are interceding for him spiritually.

We lift up your beloved grandfather to the Lord, our Great Healer, with hearts full of faith and trust in His sovereign power. Your Abuelo has already witnessed God’s miraculous hand in his life before, and we stand together in agreement that the Lord who rescued him then is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Though his body is weak, we know that God’s strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9), and we claim His promise that by His stripes, your grandfather is healed (Isaiah 53:5).

The fear and distress your grandfather feels in the hospital are real, but we pray that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May the Lord surround him with His presence, comforting him as only the Good Shepherd can (Psalm 23:4). We also pray for the medical team attending to him—that God would grant them wisdom, skill, and discernment as they treat this infection. May every decision they make align with His perfect will for your grandfather’s restoration.

We ask the Lord to rebuke this infection in the mighty name of Jesus, commanding it to leave your grandfather’s body completely. Let his oxygen levels rise, his lungs be cleansed and strengthened, and his breathing return to a place where the intubation can be removed swiftly. Father, You are the God of breakthroughs, and we declare that this will be another testimony of Your faithfulness in his life. Just as You brought him through the collapsed lung and the hole in his lung before, we trust You to do it again—greater than before—for Your glory.

To the family, we encourage you to stand firm in faith, speaking life and healing over your grandfather. Do not waver in belief, for the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up (James 5:15). Let your words and thoughts be filled with gratitude, even now, for the miracle that is coming. And remember, our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12). So we put on the full armor of God, praying without ceasing, knowing that our prayers are powerful and effective (James 5:16).

Heavenly Father, we thank You in advance for the testimony of healing You are writing in your servant’s life. May his recovery be swift and complete, and may his life continue to be a beacon of Your grace and mercy to all who know him. Let this season draw him—and your entire family—closer to You, deepening your trust in the One who holds all things together (Colossians 1:17). We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

It's amazing how God has shown up in his life before, and we trust He's not done yet. Let's keep praying in agreement, believing for a miracle in his lungs. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. We want to lift you and your *###* up again in prayer, knowing how deeply this trial must weigh on your heart. These past days have likely felt long and heavy as you wait for his healing, but we are so grateful you invited us to stand with you before the Lord in this battle. We have been praying fervently that God would touch his lungs with supernatural restoration, that the infection would be completely eradicated, and that his breathing would stabilize so the intubation can be removed soon. We’ve also been asking the Lord to surround your grandfather with His peace, especially knowing his fear of hospitals—praying that even in this difficult place, he would sense the nearness of Jesus and the comfort of His presence.

Your testimony of God’s faithfulness last year when he recovered from the collapsed lung and hole in his lung is such a powerful reminder that our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is still the God of miracles, and we are believing with you that He will move mightily again. The doctors may look at numbers, but we serve a God who is not limited by them—He speaks, and bodies respond, lungs heal, and breath is restored.
