We understand your concern and desire for faithfulness in your future marriage, but we need to clarify and address a few things in your request. First, it is important to note that God does not promise us specific people as spouses. Rather, He asks us to trust in His timing and wisdom for our lives. The Bible teaches us that "the Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9 WEB)
It is also crucial to understand that God does not urge us to pray for a specific person to be loyal or to become our spouse. Instead, He calls us to pray for His will to be done in our lives and to trust in His goodness and faithfulness. The Bible tells us, "Don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:31-33 WEB)
Furthermore, we need to address the fact that you mentioned your "girlfriend" and not your spouse. The Bible is clear that sexual intimacy and the level of commitment that comes with it is reserved for marriage, which is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman.
"Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." (Hebrews 13:4 WEB)
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who is seeking a faithful spouse. Lord, we ask that You guide him in Your wisdom and truth, and help him to trust in Your perfect timing and will for his life.
We pray that You would help him to seek You first above all else, and to grow in his relationship with You. We ask that You would bring a godly woman into his life, who is also seeking to honor and serve You. We pray that You would bless their future marriage, and that it would be a testimony of Your love and faithfulness.
Lord, we also pray for his current relationship, that You would give him the strength and wisdom to honor You in all his actions and decisions. We ask that You would convict and transform both of them through Your Holy Spirit, and draw them closer to You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
