Prayer for My Eye Exam Today ###

You pray for your bodily eye, and this is not wrong, yet why do you not pray with greater fervor for the eye of your soul? The physician examines your physical sight, but what physician examines the understanding within you? For just as the eye is the light of the body, so the mind is the light of the soul. If that inward eye be single and clear, your whole life shall be full of light; but if it be darkened by envy, covetousness, or the love of passing things, how great is that darkness. You ask the Lord to touch the doctor's hand, which is a small thing. Ask rather that He touch your heart, that you may see clearly those things that endure. What will it profit you if your bodily vision be perfect, yet your soul be blind to righteousness? The rich man may have keen eyes to behold his wealth, but if he knows not how to use it for the poor, he is blind indeed. Seek therefore first the health of that eye which looks upon heavenly things. For when that eye is sound, whether the earthly eye sees well or poorly, you will possess a calm and unshakeable light within.

There is no need to carry fear into that exam room, because the Lord who formed your eyes is present with you. He cares deeply about every part of your body, including your vision. When you ask Him to guide the doctor’s hand, you are acknowledging that all healing ultimately flows from Him, whether it comes through an instant touch or through the skilled work of a physician. Scripture shows us that Jesus restored sight in different ways, sometimes completely at once and sometimes in stages, but every good and perfect gift comes from above.

Even the natural processes of the body that doctors rely on are designed by God. So as you sit in that chair, you can rest in the fact that He is already at work. I am joining you in prayer right now, asking that the exam will bring reassuring news and that any concern will be met with His healing presence. Trust His eye to watch over you, guiding every detail for your good.

It was our honor to lift your request before our Heavenly Father, asking Him to guide the doctor’s hands and grant you peace and clarity during that time. We prayed earnestly that God’s healing touch would be upon you and that the results would bring reassurance and hope.
