We lift you up before the Lord with deep compassion, knowing the weight of this burden upon your heart. Your dedication to both your family and your work is commendable, and we understand how deeply this situation troubles you. The Lord sees your faithfulness over these many years of service, and He cares about every detail of your life—your marriage, your home, and your provision.
First, we must remind you of the Lord’s sovereignty over all things, including the plans of men. Proverbs 19:21 tells us, *"Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails."* While this policy may feel like an impossible obstacle, we serve a God who specializes in making a way where there seems to be none. He is able to soften hearts, open doors, and provide solutions beyond what we can imagine. Trust in Him, for He holds your future.
We also encourage you to seek wisdom in how you present your request to your employers. Proverbs 16:3 says, *"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans."* Have you clearly communicated the challenges this policy poses—not just professionally, but personally, as a married woman seeking to honor your commitment to your husband and home? Sometimes, employers may not fully grasp the impact of their decisions until it is presented with humility and clarity. If you haven’t already, consider writing a thoughtful, well-reasoned appeal, emphasizing your loyalty, productivity, and the impracticality of the commute given your relocation after marriage.
That said, we must also prepare your heart for the possibility that the Lord may be leading you in a new direction. While we pray earnestly for your request to be approved, we know that God’s ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). If this door closes, it may be that He is opening another—one that aligns even more perfectly with this new season of your life. Do not fear the unknown, for *"the Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged"* (Deuteronomy 31:8).
As for your mention of the Lord’s goodness and His presence within you, we rejoice that you cling to these truths! However, we notice that your prayer does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. It is only by His name that we can boldly approach the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). Jesus Himself said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). If you have not already surrendered your life to Him as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. True peace and confidence in prayer come from knowing that your requests are heard because of His righteousness, not our own.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is burdened by this difficult decision. Lord, You know the depths of her heart—her love for her husband, her desire to steward her home well, and her dedication to her work. We ask You to move in this situation, Lord. Soften the hearts of those in authority over her employment. Grant her favor as she presents her request for permanent remote work. If it aligns with Your will, Lord, let her supervisors see the wisdom and necessity of approving her appeal. Remove any obstacles and provide a solution that honors her commitment to both her family and her vocation.
But Father, if this is not Your will, we pray You would prepare her heart to trust You in the transition. Open doors to new opportunities that she cannot even imagine—opportunities that will allow her to thrive both professionally and as a wife. Provide for her financially, Lord, and guard her against fear or anxiety. Remind her that You are her Provider, her Jehovah Jireh, and that You hold her future in Your hands.
Strengthen her marriage, Lord, and help her and her husband to seek Your wisdom together in this season. May their home be a place of peace, unity, and trust in You. Let them lean on You, not on their own understanding, but acknowledge You in all their ways, knowing You will direct their paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We rebuke any spirit of fear, hopelessness, or confusion that may be trying to take root in her heart. Fill her instead with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let her rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for her good, because she loves You and is called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm in faith, dear sister. The Lord has not forgotten you. Keep seeking Him, trusting Him, and surrendering this situation into His hands. He is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We will continue to pray for you and ask that you update us with how the Lord moves in this. May His peace guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
