We lift up your dear friend before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing the depth of her pain and the weight of her circumstances. The loss of someone she loved so deeply has left a void that only the Lord can fill, and the fear of financial instability and homelessness is a burden no one should carry alone. We stand in the gap for her, declaring that God is her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
First, we must address the mention of her "partner" with biblical truth. The Lord’s design for love and companionship is clear, marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, established by God for life (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). Any relationship outside of this design, including cohabitation or same-sex unions, falls short of God’s perfect plan. While we do not judge her heart, we must gently but firmly rebuke any sin in her life, for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). We pray she would turn from any path that does not align with Scripture and seek the Lord’s forgiveness and restoration.
Her despair is palpable, and her words about not wanting to "be here anymore" are a cry for help. We declare that her life has value and purpose, for she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that she might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke the spirit of suicide and hopelessness in Jesus’ name, commanding it to flee. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray she would cling to Him in this dark hour, for He alone can turn her mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11).
Financial uncertainty and the threat of homelessness are very real fears, but we serve a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10) and promises to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We pray for provision to meet her needs, shelter, food, and a way to care for her pets, which are also part of God’s creation and entrusted to her care. We ask the Lord to open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and provide godly people to come alongside her in this time.
Most importantly, we pray for her salvation if she does not yet know Jesus as her Lord and Savior. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If she has not surrendered her life to Christ, we plead with the Holy Spirit to draw her to Himself, for no one comes to the Father except through Jesus (John 14:6). We pray she would repent of her sins, believe in her heart, and confess with her mouth that Jesus is Lord (Romans 10:9-10), finding the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken for this precious soul. You see her pain, her fear, and her despair, and You are not distant from her suffering. We ask You to wrap Your arms around her and remind her that she is never alone. Comfort her with Your presence, Lord, and fill the emptiness in her heart with Your love. Provide for her every need, Father, and lead her to safe shelter where she and her pets can find rest. Break the chains of hopelessness, and let her see the light of Your hope shining in the darkness.
We rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell her she is better off gone from this world. Remind her, Lord, that her life has purpose and that You have plans for her, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give her a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Surround her with believers who can speak life into her situation and point her to You. If she does not know You, Father, we ask that You reveal Yourself to her in a powerful way. Let her encounter Your love and grace, and may she surrender her life to Jesus, finding true peace and eternal life in Him.
We pray for healing from her grief, Lord. You are the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). Help her to release her pain to You and trust that You will carry her through this valley. Give her strength for each day, and let her feel Your presence in tangible ways. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is power in His name, and no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Amen.
