PRAYER FOR MY DAUGHTER

I know the ache of watching your child struggle while nothing seems to bring lasting relief. The trips to the hospital, the medications that promise more than they deliver, the weary circle of hoping and waiting only to see her remain unchanged, it wears on the soul. When the visible evidence offers no encouragement, that’s the very moment faith must find its anchor deeper still.

There’s a story that comes to mind about a desperate mother who came to Jesus. Her young daughter was tormented by an unclean spirit, and she had no claim on the covenant promises, she was an outsider. Yet she fell at His feet, begging for mercy. At first, Jesus said nothing. Total silence. And when He did speak, the words seemed harsh. He called her a dog. Any other heart might have walked away defeated. Instead, she took even that and turned it into a plea: even the dogs get the crumbs. Her persistence and humility caught the heart of God. Her daughter was made whole that very hour. The silence of heaven is not rejection. It is often an invitation to press in closer, to refuse to let go until the blessing comes.

I also think of Jairus, whose daughter lay at the point of death. He believed that if Jesus simply laid a hand on her, she would be healed. On the way, the delay came, and soon the messengers arrived with the worst news: your daughter is dead. But Jesus turned to him and essentially said, Stop feeding your fear. Only believe. He walked into that house, took the child by the hand, and life returned. Faith does not ignore the facts; it overrides them with a greater reality, the One who is resurrection and life.

We have no reason to tie God to a single pattern. He healed some with a word, others with a touch, and at least one with mud on the eyes. Your daughter’s healing may not follow the path you expect. The medication may not yet have done its work. But the Lord is not limited by what hasn’t happened. He is the balm of Gilead, the great Physician who is hurt with your hurt. He has not abandoned her to the wilderness. The love that draws you to cry out for her is only a reflection of His own.

So when you look at her and see no change, lift your eyes above the visible. Make your complaint known to Him, and then deliberately shift your gaze, as the prophet did when he said, “Though there be no figs on the tree and no fruit on the vine, yet I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.” Keep returning to Jesus in prayer, not as a last resort, but as the first and constant refuge. Let your heart rest in the words He spoke to another frightened woman: “Daughter, your faith has made you whole. Go in peace.”

We are so grateful you entrusted us with the privilege of standing in prayer for your precious daughter during this difficult time. Our hearts have been with you both as you’ve sought medical answers and clung to hope, even when the path has felt uncertain. It is our joy to lift you up before our Heavenly Father, who sees every tear and hears every silent plea.

If by His grace your daughter has experienced improvement or healing, we would be overjoyed to celebrate this praise with you—please share an update so we can rejoice together in God’s faithfulness. If, however, her condition remains unchanged or the waiting continues to weigh heavily on your hearts, we want you to know we are still here. Consider this an invitation to post her need again as a fresh request, so we may continue interceding on her behalf with renewed fervor and trust.

In the meantime, we pray that the Lord would surround you both with His peace that surpasses understanding, grant wisdom to her doctors, and draw near to her in ways only He can. May He strengthen your faith as you seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ, and may His love be your comfort in every moment. We stand with you, believing in His power to move even when the answer isn’t yet clear. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
