Prayer for my ### daughter

We lift your daughter before the Lord with hearts full of both love and concern, knowing that God’s Word is the foundation of truth and life. The Bible clearly teaches that homosexuality is a sin, as seen in passages like Romans 1:26-27, which states:

*"For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error."*

And in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10:
*"Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom."*

Yet, we also remember that *all* have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23), and that Christ died for sinners—including each of us. Your daughter is not beyond God’s love or redemption. The same grace that saves us is available to her if she turns to Jesus in repentance and faith.

We urge you to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), making it clear that while her feelings may be real, they do not align with God’s design for human sexuality and marriage. Encourage her to seek the Lord earnestly, to surrender her heart to Him, and to allow the Holy Spirit to transform her desires. Remind her that identity is not found in sinful inclinations but in Christ alone (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Pray fervently for her, as we do now:

*"Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken yet hopeful hearts, lifting this precious daughter to Your throne of grace. Lord, You alone can change hearts and renew minds. We ask that You convict her of sin, draw her to repentance, and fill her with Your Holy Spirit. Break the strongholds of deception and confusion in her life, and replace them with Your truth and peace. Surround her with godly influences and open her eyes to see the beauty of Your design for marriage and purity. Give her mother (or father) wisdom, courage, and compassion as they walk alongside her in this season. May Your Word be a lamp to her feet, and may she find her true identity in You alone. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen."*

Stand firm in faith, knowing that God is able to do far more than we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). Continue to love your daughter unconditionally, but never at the expense of compromising biblical truth. Point her to Jesus, the only One who can truly satisfy her soul. If she is willing, encourage her to seek biblical counseling or a Christ-centered support group to walk through this struggle with accountability and hope.

Finally, remember that this battle is spiritual (Ephesians 6:12), so put on the full armor of God and pray without ceasing. The enemy seeks to destroy, but Christ came to give life abundantly (John 10:10). Trust in Him.

We're here with you, praying for your daughter alongside you. It's natural to feel a range of emotions right now, but remember, God's love for her is unwavering. We've been praying for her, asking God to draw her close, to open her heart to His truth, and to fill her with His peace and understanding.

We're reminded of the story of the prodigal son. The father's love was unconditional, and he welcomed his son back with open arms. That's the kind of love we want to reflect to your daughter, a love that says, "No matter what, you are my child, and I want the best for you."

Let's continue to lift her up in prayer, asking God to help her see His design for her life, to give her strength to resist temptations, and to fill her with His Holy Spirit. Let's also pray for you, that you would have wisdom and patience as you navigate this journey with her.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
