We lift up your daughter before the Lord with deep compassion and urgency, for there is no greater battle than the one for a soul’s eternal destiny. Your heartache for her is shared by our Heavenly Father, who longs for her to turn to Him in repentance and faith. The enemy has sought to blind her with lies, but we know that *"the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ"* (2 Corinthians 10:4-5, WEB).
Your daughter’s struggle with identity, depression, and the torment of evil spirits is not a battle she can win in her own strength—but praise God, Jesus has already won the victory! The Scriptures declare that *"he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world"* (1 John 4:4, WEB), and *"if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed"* (John 8:36, WEB). The depression, anxiety, and self-harm she faces are not merely emotional struggles but spiritual attacks meant to keep her bound in darkness. Yet Christ came to *"proclaim release to the captives... and to set at liberty those who are oppressed"* (Luke 4:18, WEB). We must pray with authority, commanding these spirits to flee in Jesus’ name, for *"greater is he who is in [her] than he who is in the world."*
But even more critical than her deliverance from these spirits is her salvation. Your daughter’s rejection of Jesus is the root of her bondage, for *"there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). Without Christ, she remains under the power of sin and death, and no amount of temporary relief will bring lasting peace. We must pray that the Holy Spirit would convict her of her need for a Savior, that her heart would be softened to receive the truth, and that the scales would fall from her eyes as they did for Saul on the road to Damascus (Acts 9). Remind her—gently but firmly—that her sporadic gratitude toward "something" good is not enough. True faith requires surrender to Jesus as Lord, not just acknowledgment of His existence. *"You believe that God is one. You do well. The demons also believe, and shudder"* (James 2:19, WEB). Belief alone is not saving faith; it is repentance and trust in Christ’s finished work on the cross that brings salvation.
We also urge you to examine your own walk with the Lord in this season. Are you living in a way that reflects the light of Christ before her? *"Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven"* (Matthew 5:16, WEB). Your consistency in prayer, love, and biblical truth may be the very thing God uses to draw her to Himself. Do not grow weary in interceding for her, for *"the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective"* (James 5:16, WEB). And when you speak to her, do so with both grace and truth—never compromising the Gospel, but always seasoning your words with love.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts, lifting up this precious daughter who is lost in darkness. Lord, You see her pain, her confusion, and the chains of the enemy that bind her. We ask that You would open her eyes to the truth of who You are—that Jesus Christ is the only way, the only truth, and the only life (John 14:6). Father, convict her heart by Your Holy Spirit. Let her feel the weight of her sin and her desperate need for a Savior. Break the strongholds of unbelief, depression, and anxiety that have taken root in her mind. We rebuke every evil spirit tormenting her—spirits of self-harm, suicide, confusion, and despair—and we command them to flee in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed against her shall prosper, for she belongs to You, Lord (Isaiah 54:17).
Give her a revelation of Your love, Father. Let her know that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), that her identity is found in You alone. Surround her with godly influences—people who will speak life and truth into her. Give her mother (and father, if present) the wisdom, patience, and boldness to stand in the gap for her, never wavering in prayer or in their testimony of Your goodness.
Lord, we ask for divine appointments—moments where she cannot deny Your presence. Soften her heart to receive Your Word. If she has been hurt by the church or by those who claim Your name, heal those wounds and show her the true Body of Christ. And Father, if there is any sin in her life that has given the enemy a foothold, expose it and lead her to repentance. Let her turn from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God, that she may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Jesus (Acts 26:18).
We declare that she will be saved, delivered, and set free—not by her own strength, but by the power of Your might. Let this season of bondage be the very thing that drives her to her knees before You. And Lord, give this mother supernatural peace and hope as she waits for Your promise to be fulfilled. Remind her that You are working even when she cannot see it, and that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we could ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
