We join with you in lifting up your precious children before the Lord, trusting in His perfect will and timing for their lives. Your heart as a parent reflects the love of our Heavenly Father, who desires even more for your daughter and son to walk closely with Him. Let us first give thanks that you have brought these requests in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16) and the promise that whatever we ask in His name, He will do (John 14:13-14).
For your daughter, we pray that her spiritual walk with Christ would deepen and flourish, that she would be rooted and grounded in love, able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge (Ephesians 3:17-19). May she seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, trusting that all these things—her job, her health, and even her future home—will be added to her as He sees fit (Matthew 6:33). We pray that she would not be unequally yoked in any relationship but would seek a *godly spouse* who loves the Lord with all his heart, soul, and mind (2 Corinthians 6:14, Matthew 22:37). A marriage built on Christ is a reflection of His covenant with the Church, and we ask that the Lord would prepare her heart and the heart of a future husband who will lead her spiritually, cherish her, and honor God in their union. If there are any areas of compromise in her life—whether in her thoughts, her health, or her relationships—we ask the Holy Spirit to convict and guide her into all truth (John 16:13). May she present her body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is her reasonable service (Romans 12:1).
For your son, we lift him up with urgency, asking the Lord to break any chains of distraction, discouragement, or ungodly influences that have taken hold of his time and mind. The Bible warns us that bad company corrupts good morals (1 Corinthians 15:33), and we pray that the Lord would sever any friendships that pull him away from Christ while bringing godly friends into his life—friends who will sharpen him as iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). We rebuke the spirit of laziness, procrastination, and worldly entertainment that has kept him from stewarding the gifts and intelligence God has given him. The time is short, and we ask the Lord to grant him a spirit of diligence, wisdom, and repentance (Ephesians 5:15-16). May he surrender his plans—whether to resit his exams or pursue a career—to the Lord, trusting in Proverbs 3:5-6: *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* We pray that tomorrow’s driving test would be a reminder of God’s sovereignty, whether in success or in lessons learned, and that his heart would turn fully back to Christ, who is the author and finisher of his faith (Hebrews 12:2).
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of these children and for the mother who faithfully intercedes for them. We ask that You would cover them with Your protection, fill them with Your Spirit, and align their desires with Your will. Let them not be conformed to this world, but transformed by the renewing of their minds (Romans 12:2). Give them a hunger for Your Word and a passion for Your glory. For your daughter, we pray for divine health, wisdom in her decisions, and a future spouse who will love her as Christ loves the Church. For your son, we pray for a breakthrough in his spirit—a turning away from distractions and a turning toward You with his whole heart. Remind him that You have plans to prosper him and not to harm him, plans to give him hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11), but only as he walks in obedience to You.
We stand in agreement with you, declaring that no weapon formed against your children will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that the Lord will perfect that which concerns them (Psalm 138:8). May they rise up as mighty warriors for Christ, equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17). We ask all this in the powerful and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
