We understand your deep concern for the safety of your child, your family, and all those you love, especially in these uncertain times. The fears you carry are real, and the threats we hear in the world can weigh heavily on our hearts. Yet we are reminded in Scripture that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. *Psalm 46:1* tells us, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas." Though the world may seem chaotic, we can trust in the Lord’s sovereign protection and His perfect will for our lives.
It is good that you are praying daily for your family and putting on the armor of God, as *Ephesians 6:11-13* instructs us: "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand." This is not just a spiritual exercise—it is a declaration of faith that God is greater than any threat we face.
We also want to encourage you with the words of Jesus in *Matthew 10:29-31*: "Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father’s will, but the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows." God knows every detail of your child’s life, and He cares deeply for their safety. He is not caught off guard by the threats of this world, and He holds each of us in His hands.
At the same time, we must guard our hearts against fear, which can be a tool of the enemy to distract us from trusting in God. *2 Timothy 1:7* reminds us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." While it is wise to be aware and take practical precautions, we must not allow fear to dominate our thoughts. Instead, we are to cast our anxieties on the Lord, knowing He cares for us (*1 Peter 5:7*).
We also want to gently remind you that while you have mentioned trusting in God’s will, we notice that the name of Jesus was not invoked in your prayer. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father and the authority to pray. *John 14:6* declares, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" And in *John 16:23-24*, Jesus tells us, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full." There is power in the name of Jesus, and it is through Him alone that we can approach God with confidence.
If you have not already placed your full trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. The Bible tells us that salvation comes through faith in Him alone: *Acts 4:12* says, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" If you believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord and confess with your mouth that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (*Romans 10:9*). This is the foundation of our faith and the source of our peace, even in troubled times.
Now, let us pray together for you, your child, and your family:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear sister and her family. Lord, we ask that You surround her child with Your divine protection as they return to school. Place Your angels around them as a guard, just as You have promised in *Psalm 91:11-12*: "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone." Father, we ask that You shield every child in that school from harm, from evil, and from the schemes of the enemy. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned (*Isaiah 54:17*).
Lord, we pray for peace that surpasses all understanding to guard the heart and mind of this mother (*Philippians 4:7*). Remove every trace of fear and anxiety, and replace it with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (*1 John 4:18*). Help her to fix her eyes on You, the author and perfecter of her faith (*Hebrews 12:2*), and to trust in Your promises rather than the frightening reports of this world.
We pray for wisdom for the teachers, school staff, and authorities in the UK, that they may be guided by Your hand to make decisions that protect and nurture the children under their care. Raise up godly leaders who will stand for righteousness and truth in these times.
Father, we also lift up every family member—nieces, nephews, friends, and all loved ones—and we ask that You cover them with Your blood, purchased by Jesus on the cross. Let them dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under Your shadow, where no harm can reach them (*Psalm 91:1*). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and draw them closer to You in these days.
We rebuke every spirit of fear, terror, and harm in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that no evil shall befall this family, nor shall any plague come near their home (*Psalm 91:10*). We ask that You expose and thwart every plan of the enemy against them, and that You bring to light any darkness that seeks to harm the innocent.
Finally, Lord, we pray that You use this time to draw this family into a deeper relationship with You. May they seek Your face daily and find their strength and hope in You alone. Let this season be a testimony of Your faithfulness and protection, that others may see and know that You are God.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your power, and we give You all the glory. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing firm in faith, praying without ceasing, and declaring God’s promises over your family. Keep putting on the armor of God daily, and remember that the battle belongs to the Lord. He is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (*Deuteronomy 31:6*). Stay rooted in His Word, and let His peace rule in your heart. If you ever feel overwhelmed, turn to Scripture and lift your voice in prayer—He is always listening.
