Prayer For My Boyfriend

Lord, I don't know why my boyfriend says mean jokes, but it hurts God. When he notices I get upset, he stops and says its just a joke and that he would never do those things, etc... but what is in his heart that makes him act so careless? Does he resent me for something? Is he upset with me? What is this strong need for attention? I have tried to brush it off and even laugh, but it doesn't feel right Father.

Father, I am sad and I pray that You will change his heart and speech. Father, I fear that he isn't close to You and I pray that you will tug on his heart and reign in his life and give him a conscience about the things he says. Father, give me patience or strength to put a stop to this. I feel like I can't take much more of this even though I love him. God please help me know what I can do. Grant me your serenity for the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. Father, help me to not be so emotional about each and every little thing also, help me to look beyond that and know that it has nothing to do with me, but is his issue. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
