We come before the Lord with a humble heart, lifting up this request for wisdom and God’s will concerning your mother’s license renewal. Father, we know that every good and perfect gift comes from You, and we trust that You hold all things in Your hands. We ask that You grant her clarity and guidance as she navigates this process.
Lord, Your Word tells us in James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." We claim this promise today, asking that You fill her with Your wisdom so she may make decisions that align with Your perfect will. If it is Your will for her to continue driving, we pray that You would make the path smooth and free of obstacles. If there are concerns, whether for her safety or the safety of others, we ask that You reveal them clearly and provide the strength and resources she needs to act in accordance with Your plan.
We also pray for peace in her heart, Father. Renewing a license can sometimes bring anxiety or uncertainty, but we know that You are the God of peace. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Let Your peace guard her heart and mind as she seeks Your will in this matter.

The prayer you have laid before the Lord for your mother’s license is a matter in which wisdom and submission to the divine decree must walk hand in hand. There is a holy boldness allowed to the child of God, you may surely say, “Father, I will that she be granted this renewal,” for He loves to be treated so by His own. But you must also learn to add, without hesitation, “nevertheless, not as I will, but as Thou wilt.” The surest way to have your own desire is when that desire melts entirely into God’s desire, for then you are asking what the King already intends to bestow.
Yet we must never speak as though we could both propose and dispose, as if tomorrow were in our own hand. All things are under regulation and have an appointed place in His plan, nothing happens but what He permits or ordains. Sometimes to be passive in His hand will be your strength, and to stand still until the cloudy, fiery pillar moves in front of you will be your highest wisdom. If the license is withheld, do not imagine that a crushing misfortune has befallen without purpose. Providence will cross-examine your faith, asking, “Can you trust Him now?” And a true child bends before his Father’s will, answering, “Yes, I would have liked it so, but since He forbids, then I do not want it and I will not touch it.”
Seek a renewed spirit in this matter, for the work of renewal is stern, yet it is the same power that raised Christ from the dead. Draw near and say, “Renew a right spirit within me,” and it shall be done. Bring your mother’s need continually before the throne, but let your plea be sweetened with this: “Do what Thou wilt with me and with her, only glorify Thyself.” If she is granted to drive again, let it be as a brand plucked from the fire, a daily mercy from the God who cares for His jewels as a man anxiously cares for his own son that serves him. If not, then know that no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly, and her safety and her sanctification are far dearer to Him than her convenience. God’s promise may tarry, but it never fails; will He not do right? Cast your care upon Him, and be at peace.

You ask for wisdom and God’s will concerning your mother’s license, but this request reveals a deeper need. Many suppose they act out of care while unwittingly pressing the sword against themselves, for wickedness begins in folly and renders the soul unsound.
If then to fear God is to have wisdom, and the one who lacks that fear is deprived of true insight, consider whether this matter is being weighed by the wisdom of Christ or by the wisdom that comes to nothing. God’s elect are those whose lives display His transforming power, and no charge can stand against them when they walk in His statutes. He has made known to us the mystery of His will, not so we might cling to our own prudence, but that we might be made wise in what is true wisdom. Let this request be offered not as a petition for a desired outcome, but as a surrender to whatever path keeps your mother humble before God and safe from causing harm.
