Disciple of Prayer
Please continue to pray for me and my friend to forgive and reconcile with each other. It has been a month since our fall out and I was really close to her. She was my sister in Christ. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

How to Make Friends
From Death to Life
Henry W. Grady
We join you in prayer for this precious friendship and we understand how painful it is to be separated from one who was so close to you as a sister in Christ. A month can feel like a very long time when there is hurt and silence between you, and we commend you for desiring forgiveness and reconciliation rather than bitterness.

Scripture shows us that reconciliation is close to the heart of God. We are called to forgive as we have been forgiven, even when it is difficult. Ephesians 4:32 says, Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. And Colossians 3:13 reminds us, bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Forgiveness does not always mean the hurt was not real, but it releases us and opens the door for God to restore what was broken.

We also hear your heart for restoration and we pray that both of you would be willing to take steps toward peace. Matthew 18:15 teaches us, If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother. And Romans 12:18 says, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Sometimes reconciliation requires humility, honest conversation, and a willingness to listen more than to be heard, as James 1:19 encourages us to be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.

We are thankful you prayed in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have access to the Father and it is through His example of reconciliation that we learn to love one another. 2 Corinthians 5:18 tells us that God reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation.

We pray together for you and your friend.

Father, in Jesus name we lift up these two sisters in Christ to You. You see the pain of this falling out and the month of separation they have endured. We ask that You soften both hearts, remove any pride, hurt, or misunderstanding, and give them a spirit of humility and grace. Help them to forgive one another fully as You in Christ have forgiven them. Lord, if it is Your will, open the door for honest and gentle communication, that they may speak the truth in love and listen with compassion. Restore this friendship for Your glory, or give them peace if Your timing or path is different. Let Your love bind them together and let Your peace guard their hearts. We ask that You use this trial to deepen their faith and their understanding of Your forgiveness. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray for her daily, to ask God to show you any part you may need to own, and when you sense the leading of the Holy Spirit, to reach out with gentleness and humility. Trust the Lord with the outcome, knowing that whether reconciliation comes quickly or takes more time, He is working in both of your hearts for good.

We hear how heavy this past month has been for you. Losing closeness with someone you called a sister in Christ leaves a real ache, and we are grateful you shared it with us. We have been praying for you both.

One thing that has helped others in this kind of hurt is to remember that forgiveness and reconciliation, while connected, are not quite the same. Forgiveness is something we can choose in our own heart before the feelings have fully caught up, a decision to release bitterness and wish good for the other person. Reconciliation takes both people willing to move toward rebuilding trust, and that can take more time and conversation. Knowing the difference can ease some of the pressure you may feel while you wait.

If you sense the Lord leading you to reach out, a simple, brief note can be a gentle next step. Keep it short, own what is yours to own without asking her to respond on your timeline, and let her know you value the friendship and are praying for peace between you. If she is not ready yet, give space and keep entrusting her to God.

Father, we lift this friendship to You. Soften both hearts where there is hurt, help our friend to forgive as You have forgiven, and give wisdom for any words or steps to take. Guard this sister in Christ and bring Your peace and healing in Your timing. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your desire for forgiveness and reconciliation with your sister in Christ is a gracious and good thing, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.

We are reminded in Scripture that there is forgiveness with God, that He may be feared. The word stands in its glorious fullness and simplicity with no limiting condition, there is forgiveness. It is a divine forgiveness, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions, and it is a surprising forgiveness, so full and free that it seems too great to be true, yet it is true for every penitent heart that looks to Christ. He not only forgave us at the first all our sins, but He continues daily to forgive, and the forgiveness He gives for Christ's sake is an eternal forgiveness, complete, as though the sin had never been, the record nailed to the cross.

It is this pattern we are called to study and then to copy. Even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Forgiveness among the people of God is to be a joint stock business of mutual forgiveness, and those who have received so much manifest forgiveness should find it as natural to open their hands to forgive as to breathe. To forgive as Christ forgave is not degrading but gloriously ennobling, while revenge is paltry.

We pray for you both in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone forgiveness with God is obtained.

Our Father, we thank Thee that there is forgiveness with Thee. We ask Thee to work in both hearts true humility and tenderness, to show each one her own need of Thy mercy, and to make the cross of Christ so precious that any offense between sisters seems small beside the great debt Thou hast forgiven. Grant repentance where repentance is needed, and a readiness to forgive even as Christ has forgiven. Soften what has been hardened by a month of separation, remove pride and fear, and give wisdom for honest, gentle, and truthful conversation in due season. If it be Thy will, restore this friendship to be stronger and more faithful than before, that ye may again bear one another's burdens and build one another up in the faith. Keep both hearts from despair and keep them near to Jesus, who is our peace.

We encourage you to continue in prayer, to search your own heart before the Lord, and when the Lord gives opportunity, to seek your sister in a spirit of meekness and love, speaking the truth with grace and being ready to both ask forgiveness and to grant it freely. The Lord who delights to forgive will give you grace to forgive.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may He bring about reconciliation in His perfect time and way.
