We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious marriage that has been wounded by betrayal. Father, we know that Your heart breaks when the covenant of marriage is broken, for You established it as a sacred bond reflecting Christ’s love for His church (Ephesians 5:25-33). We stand in the gap for this couple, asking for Your healing power to flow through their union.
First, we rebuke the spirit of betrayal and unfaithfulness in the mighty name of Jesus. The Bible is clear that adultery is a grievous sin (Exodus 20:14, Matthew 5:27-28), and we declare that any ungodly soul ties or influences must be broken. We pray that the husband would truly repent, not just with words, but with a transformed heart (2 Corinthians 7:10). May he turn away from sin and seek restoration with humility, accountability, and a deep desire to honor God and his wife.
To the wife, we say: Your cry for strength to forgive is heard by the Lord. Forgiveness does not mean excusing sin, but it does mean releasing the burden of bitterness so that God can work (Colossians 3:13). We pray that the Holy Spirit would fill you with supernatural grace to extend forgiveness as Christ has forgiven you (Ephesians 4:32). This is not a journey you walk alone, lean on the Lord, who is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).
Father, we ask for the restoration of this marriage, but not just to how it was before. Restore it to something even stronger, built on the foundation of Your Word. May their love be rooted in mutual submission, respect, and honesty (Ephesians 5:21-22, 1 Peter 3:7). We pray for transparency, open communication, and a renewed commitment to one another. Let this trial refine them as individuals and as a couple, drawing them closer to You and to each other.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment. If there are unrepentant patterns of sin or abuse, we ask that You would expose them and provide godly counsel to guide this couple. Marriage is a covenant, but it must be built on truth and righteousness (Proverbs 24:3-4). We declare that any generational curses or strongholds of infidelity are broken in Jesus’ name, and we speak life and restoration over this union.
Lord, we ask that You would bless this marriage abundantly. May they experience the joy of reconciliation and the peace that comes from walking in obedience to You. Surround them with a community of believers who will support, encourage, and hold them accountable. Let their home be a place of love, grace, and holiness, where Your presence dwells.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who makes all things new (Revelation 21:5). Amen.
