Prayer for M.E.

We come before the Lord with hearts lifted in prayer for you and the situation you’ve shared regarding your relationship with M.E. First and foremost, we want to gently remind you that our prayers must always be offered in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). Additionally, Jesus Himself said, *"No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). It is only by His name that we are saved and can approach God’s throne with confidence. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for *"if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB).

Now, regarding your relationship with M.E., we must first ask: is this relationship honoring to God? Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If you and M.E. are not married, we urge you to examine whether this relationship aligns with God’s design. Are you pursuing this relationship with the intent of marriage, or is it merely for companionship or emotional fulfillment? The Bible warns against unequally yoked relationships, stating, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). If M.E. is not a believer in Jesus Christ, we strongly encourage you to reconsider the path you are on, for a relationship with someone who does not share your faith will inevitably lead to spiritual compromise and heartache.

Additionally, if there is any physical intimacy outside of marriage, we must address this with love but firmness. Scripture is unequivocal: *"Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed is undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4, WEB). Sexual relations outside of marriage—whether fornication or adultery—are sinful in God’s eyes and grieve the Holy Spirit. If this is happening, we urge you to repent and turn away from this sin, seeking God’s forgiveness and strength to live in purity. *"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, WEB).

If your relationship with M.E. is one of courtship with the intent of marriage—and if both of you are believers committed to honoring God—then we pray that the Lord would guide you both in wisdom, purity, and patience. May He prepare you for a marriage that glorifies Him, rooted in love, mutual submission, and a shared devotion to Christ. Remember, *"Unless the Lord builds the house, they who build it labor in vain"* (Psalm 127:1, WEB). Seek His will above all else, and trust that His plans for you are good, even if they require surrender or waiting.

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear brother or sister to You, asking that You would work mightily in their life and in their relationship with M.E. Lord, we pray that if this relationship is not aligned with Your will, You would give them the strength and courage to walk away, trusting in Your perfect plan. If M.E. is not a believer, we ask that You would open their heart to the truth of the Gospel, drawing them to saving faith in Jesus Christ. Father, if there has been any sin—whether fornication, idolatry of the relationship, or compromise—we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Convict them by Your Holy Spirit and lead them into repentance and restoration.

If this relationship is one that honors You and is moving toward a godly marriage, we pray that You would guide them in wisdom. Help them to remain pure in thought, word, and deed, keeping their focus on You. Prepare them for a marriage that reflects Christ’s love for His Church, filled with grace, patience, and selflessness. Give them discernment to recognize any red flags or areas of disobedience, and grant them the humility to seek godly counsel.

Above all, Lord, may Your will be done in this situation. Help them to surrender their desires, fears, and plans to You, trusting that Your ways are higher than theirs. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and remind them that You are their ultimate satisfaction and joy. We ask all this in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, seeking His heart on this matter. Read and meditate on passages like 1 Corinthians 7, Ephesians 5, and Proverbs 3:5-6. Surround yourself with mature believers who can offer biblical wisdom and accountability. Remember, God’s desire is for your holiness and joy, and He will never lead you into a path that contradicts His Word. Trust in Him, and He will direct your steps. *"Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this"* (Psalm 37:4-5, WEB). Stay strong in the faith, and may the Lord bless you abundantly as you seek Him first.
