Prayer for justice and release

Disciple of Prayer
Prayer for me, I was involved in a case of injustice when I was ### years old. The judge sided with the rapist, the man who paid the lawyer and the judge to win this case has died and I would like to have help with prayer for his soul. Please lift this case up to God with me and help me to pray to not have trauma about this anymore and release me from captivity.
I pray in Jesus name.

We stand with you in this painful season, lifting your heart before the throne of grace where true justice and healing reside. The injustice you endured is a grave wound, one that only the Lord can fully mend. We acknowledge the deep betrayal of a system meant to protect, and we grieve with you over the corruption that allowed evil to prevail. Yet we declare that God sees every detail, and His justice is perfect, even when man’s fails. The Scripture assures us, "The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed" (Psalm 103:6). Your cry has not gone unheard, and we trust that the Lord will bring every hidden thing to light in His time.

Regarding the man who perpetrated this injustice, we must speak truth in love. The Bible is clear that "it is appointed for men to die once, and after this, judgment" (Hebrews 9:27). While we can pray for God’s mercy, we cannot presume upon it, for the Lord alone knows the heart. What we can do is release this man into God’s hands, trusting that He will deal justly with every soul. We also pray for your heart to be freed from the burden of bitterness, for "vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord" (Romans 12:19). Holding onto anger only prolongs your captivity, true freedom comes when we surrender our pain to Christ.

The trauma you carry is real, but it does not have to define you. Jesus came to "proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed" (Luke 4:18). We pray that He would break every chain of fear, shame, and unforgiveness that still binds you. May His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). You are not alone in this fight, we stand with you, believing that God will restore what was stolen and turn your mourning into joy.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our sister who has endured such deep injustice. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who heals, and the God who executes perfect justice. We ask that You would bring full restoration to her soul, mind, body, and spirit. Break the power of trauma over her life, and replace every lie with Your truth. We declare that she is not a victim but a victor in Christ, and we pray for Your peace to flood every broken place.

Father, we release the man who caused this pain into Your hands. We do not know his heart, but You do. We ask for Your mercy to meet him, even as we trust in Your righteous judgment. For our sister, we pray for freedom from bitterness and unforgiveness. Help her to lay down the weight of anger and receive Your healing touch. Surround her with godly community, wise counsel, and Your abiding presence.

Lord, we also pray for the legal system that failed her. Expose any corruption, and let Your justice prevail in every corner where darkness has taken hold. May Your light shine in the courts, in the hearts of judges, and in the lives of all who have been wronged.

We thank You, Jesus, that You bore our pain on the cross. You know suffering intimately, and You are near to the brokenhearted. We trust You to complete the good work You’ve begun in her life. In Your mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek out a biblical counselor or trusted pastor who can walk with you through this healing journey. The Lord has not forgotten you, and He is working even now to redeem your story. Keep pressing into Him, for He is faithful. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). You are deeply loved.

We are so moved by your courage in sharing this request and by the tenderness of your heart, even toward the soul of someone who caused such deep harm. What you experienced is a profound violation of justice, a wrong done not only to your body but to your trust in a system meant to protect you. The weight of that injustice, compounded by the trauma, can cling to a person for years, and we want you to know we hear the ache behind your words. The fact that you are asking God to release you from captivity is itself a sign of His work already stirring within you.

Your request to pray for the man's soul is remarkable. We can entrust both him and the judge to God, who alone knows every hidden thing and judges righteously. At the same time, your own healing matters immensely to the Lord. The journey through trauma often works best when we don't walk it alone. Have you considered finding a safe, trauma-informed Christian counselor or a support group for survivors of sexual violence within your local church or community? Speaking your story aloud to someone trained to listen can, over time, loosen trauma's grip. That is not a quick fix, survivors often describe healing less like flipping a switch and more like learning to breathe freely again, step by step. And if you have never spoken with a medical professional about any health symptoms tied to the trauma, that may be another kind of support worth pursuing alongside prayer.

Right now, we simply want to stand with you before the throne of grace.

Lord Jesus, we lift up this beloved daughter who has carried such a heavy burden. You saw every hidden act, and You wept at the perversion of justice. Pour Your peace into the places where trauma still holds her captive. Quiet the memories that ambush her, and gently restore her sense of dignity and safety. We release the soul of that man into Your hands, trusting Your perfect judgment and mercy. But we ask now for her: loosen the chains of the past, surround her with wise and gentle companions, and let her know deep in her bones that she is whole and clean in Your sight. Amen.

The wrong you suffered cries out, and the Judge of all the earth will surely do right. Yet I perceive the deeper wound: this injustice has held your soul captive, and the death of that sinner stirs a fresh ache. You ask prayer for his soul, and this is no small thing, it is a mark of grace already at work. But hear this: there is forgiveness with God, that He may be feared. The vilest offender who truly repents and believes in Jesus Christ shall find mercy, for the blood of the Son of God cleanses from all sin. But whether that man sought it or spurned it, we must leave him to the Lord who alone knows the heart. Your part is to commit him to the righteous Judge, and then to flee to the cross for your own complete release.

The enemy of your peace would keep you bound by the memory of this evil, but Christ’s voice can speak louder than the shouts of the courtroom. He says to your trembling soul, “Thy sins are forgiven thee,” and with those words He severs every chain. This sentence is not cold and measured; it flows from a heart that delights to pardon. If He forgives you ten thousand talents, can you not hand over the hundred pence owed to you by that man? Forgiveness is not a feeling but a deed, a continuous act of grace in which you resolve to wish him no ill but to pray for his soul, and then to drop the burden of his sin at the foot of the throne.

This is the Lord’s release. He commands us to release our debtors, not for their sake alone, but that we ourselves might be loosed from the prison of bitterness. The very leaves of the Tree of Life are for healing, there is not a word from Christ’s lips, not the least promise, that does not carry virtue to bind up your broken heart. Go to Him now, and breathe out your prayer: “Lord, I release that man to Thee. If Thou canst save him, save him; if not, Thy judgments are true. And release me from this captivity, that the trauma may no more have dominion over me. Let the shadow of Thy wing cover my past, and let me walk in the liberty wherewith Thou hast made me free.” Cease to expect perfect justice from the courts of men; look rather to the Man of Sorrows, who was wrongly condemned, and find fellowship with Him. In His wounds you will discover that your wrongs are swallowed up in a love that passes knowledge.

There is forgiveness with Thee, O Lord, and plenteous redemption. Trust Him for it now. It is a free gift, not delayed until you have made yourself feel worthy, but freely bestowed on all who rest upon His finished work. Rise up from your bed of despair, take up your mat, and walk. The past is blotted out; the future is bright with the smile of Him who has promised, “I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” And as you taste this divine forgiveness, you will find the grace to forgive even as you have been forgiven. There is forgiveness, and with it healing for your deepest scars. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The cry for justice burns in your heart because you were wronged. I do not diminish this. But I must ask you to consider the justice of God, which is not like the justice of men. The judge in your case was corrupted, swayed by gold and influence. This is a manifest evil, and that man who paid the bribe has now gone to stand before the tribunal where no gold can purchase a false verdict. Do you see? Even here, in our earthly courts and marketplaces, we demand justice. How much more shall the righteous Judge of all the earth do right? Shall He, whose throne is established on righteousness, make no account of these things? It is not possible. The man who bribed has met the Judge from whom nothing is hidden. Leave his soul to God. It is a fearful thing, and we pray for mercy even for the wicked, but we do not grieve as though true justice has failed. The punishment he now faces, or the mercy he might have found through repentance, lies entirely in that court.

Now consider your captivity. You say the trauma holds you, and you pray to be released. Observe the wisdom of the blessed Paul. The word captivity usually names an evil, yet he transforms it, speaking of bringing every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. The enemy meant to bind you with chains of terror and memory, but Christ can make this very captivity into a means of grace. How? By compelling you to flee to Him. The soul that cries out in its chains learns to cling to the Deliverer with a grip it never knew in ease. This is not the work of a moment, nor of one prayer. The disciples heard constantly that Christ would die and rise, yet they understood not and grieved greatly. So it is with us. The medicine of the word, heard again and again, works slowly within. You may feel no relief today, but you are not before a judge who can be deceived. You are before a Physician who does not abandon His patient.

Your prayer is that this trauma cease and you be released. Yet consider what God has already done for you. The mercy He shows is not merely the removal of a punishment. He releases us from the impending doom, yes, but then He does what is far beyond mercy. He makes us righteous. He makes us sons. He makes us heirs. You contribute your faith, believing that He is able to save, and you contribute your love, which is in Christ Jesus. This love drives out the torment. The man who injured you may have taken ease in his sin and rejoiced in his corruption, and that very rejoicing was the seal of his disease. But you do not rejoice in your hurt. You hate it. You bring it to God. That very hatred of the evil and that cry for release are signs that the healing treatment has already begun. Do not despair if the shadow of the injury remains for a time. God knows the weight you can bear, and with the temptation He will make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. He brings on a speedy release, even when it seems slow to you.

Do not cease bringing this to the court of heaven. It may seem you have cried out ten thousand times without result. But I am fully persuaded that such eager desire, such a persistent love of deliverance, will not fail to bear fruit. The tree receives many blows before it falls. The final stroke seems to do the work, but all the previous ones made it possible. Your past prayers are not lost. The root is being loosened, even if you do not see it above ground. Stand in the judgment court of prayer and present your case to the Judge who cannot be bribed. He will silence the accuser. He will quiet the raging memory. And that captivity, which the wicked man intended for your destruction, God will transform into a vessel carrying you deeper into the obedience and peace of Christ.
