Prayer for justice against the wicked

Anonymous

Beloved of All
My prayer is simple, I have been contending with a witch and I want to recover physically and spiritually from the battles, receive justice and I’m praying for the discernment to know how to completely defeat her and remove this nuisance from my life.

We have heard your cry for justice and for physical and spiritual restoration after contending in this prolonged spiritual battle, and we stand with you together before the Lord in Jesus' name to seek His will and His victory.

We understand the exhaustion that comes from this kind of warfare, and we want to remind you that our struggle is not ultimately against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Ephesians 6:12. The Bible is clear that sorcery and witchcraft are works of the flesh and are an abomination to God, Galatians 5:20, Deuteronomy 18:10-12, and those who practice such things are under the power of the enemy, not greater than the power of Christ within you. For greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world, 1 John 4:4, and Christ has disarmed the principalities and powers and made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them, Colossians 2:15.

We also hear your desire to completely defeat this person and to see justice done, and we gently correct and encourage you here. Vengeance belongs to the Lord alone. It is written, Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord, Romans 12:19, Deuteronomy 32:35. God is a God of justice who loves justice, Psalm 37:28, Isaiah 61:8, and He will repay, 2 Thessalonians 1:6. Our calling is not to take personal revenge or to return evil for evil, but to overcome evil with good, Romans 12:21, to submit ourselves to God, to resist the devil and he will flee from you, James 4:7, and to pray even for those who oppose us that they might come to repentance, Matthew 5:44, Luke 6:27-28. We do pray for your deliverance and for the removal of this oppression from your life, and we pray for justice according to God's righteous judgment, but we leave the execution of that justice in His holy hands, trusting that He sees all and will act in His perfect time.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we must speak to this because there is no other way to the Father and no other power by which we overcome. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is only through faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection, that we have access to God, forgiveness of sins, and authority over the enemy, Romans 10:9, Ephesians 6:10. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, to confess your sins and to abide in Him, for apart from Him we can do nothing, John 15:5.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace on behalf of our dear one who is weary from battle. Lord, we ask You to cover them with Your wings, for he who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty, Psalm 91:1. We ask You to put Your complete armor upon them, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the feet fitted with the preparation of the Good News of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is Your Word, Ephesians 6:14-17, so that they may stand firm against every scheme of the enemy. We pray for physical and spiritual recovery, for You are the One who forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases, Psalm 103:3, and You have promised, I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh, Jeremiah 30:17. Touch their body, renew their strength, and restore their soul, Psalm 23:3. Grant them discernment, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, James 1:5, and help them to have their senses exercised to discern good and evil, Hebrews 5:14. We ask for Your divine justice to prevail, Lord, contend with those who contend with them, Psalm 35:1, and let no weapon that is formed against them prosper, Isaiah 54:17. We pray that every assignment of witchcraft and every work of darkness against them be broken and rendered powerless by the blood of Jesus. We pray also, Father, that if it be Your will, the one who has practiced witchcraft would be brought to repentance and to the knowledge of the truth, 2 Timothy 2:25-26, but we ask above all that this nuisance and oppression be removed from their life and that they would walk in freedom, for whom the Son sets free is free indeed, John 8:36. Fill them with Your perfect love which casts out fear, 2 Timothy 1:7, 1 John 4:18, and let them be more than conquerors through Him who loved us, Romans 8:37. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue steadfast in prayer and in the Word, to stay in fellowship with mature believers who can pray with you and counsel you, and to keep your mind fixed on Christ, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, 2 Corinthians 10:4. Do not seek out counter witchcraft or ungodly methods to fight back, but keep your heart clean, forgive as Christ forgave you, Colossians 3:13, and trust the Lord to be your defender. He will give you rest and He will restore what the enemy has tried to steal, Joel 2:25. Keep seeking Him daily, and He will give you the discernment and the complete victory that is already yours in Christ.

We hear how weary you must feel after this long stretch of conflict, and how much you want to feel well again in body and spirit and to have clear direction for what comes next. Wanting justice and discernment in a situation that feels oppressive is understandable, and we want to stand with you for protection and peace.

We have learned that when the battle feels very personal and intense, it helps not to carry it alone or to stay focused only on the other person. Our security is in Christ himself, and He is the one who brings justice in His way and time. A steady way forward is often quieter than we expect, staying close to Jesus, resting in His care, and letting trusted others walk with us.

One practical next step that may help is to invite a mature pastor or two trusted believers you know well into what you are experiencing. Meet regularly, not just once, so they can pray with you, help you weigh what is happening with humility and wisdom, and support you as you recover. If your body is still feeling the strain, please also let a medical clinician check on you alongside prayer, so your physical recovery is cared for well.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus' name. We ask You to cover them with Your peace, to restore strength body and spirit, to give clear and humble discernment, and to lead them step by step. Guard their heart and home, and help them rest in Your justice and goodness. Amen.

Your prayer for justice, for recovery both physical and spiritual, and for discernment in this hard contention has been heard, and we bring it before the Lord with you.

We understand the weariness that comes from long battle. The enemy of our souls would have you believe that God's ear is shut and that He will never move His arm to work deliverance for you, but that is a lie. Our God is a God of deliverance, and that deliverance must be worked by His hand and outstretched arm alone. You cannot by your own strength cast off the power of darkness, for deliverance from the power of sin and from the assaults of evil is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. Where we look for justification, there must we also look for sanctification and for keeping.

We do not pray that you would take vengeance into your own hands, for vengeance belongs to the Lord, and His justice is perfect. We pray instead that you would be hidden in Christ, who has found a ransom. The message of the gospel is not that God shall deal with you in justice to condemn you, but that He is gracious unto you, for He has found a ransom in the blood of His Son. That same blood which justifies is your protection and your plea for justice against every wicked work. The lamb was slain, and by that slaying God brought His people forth out of cruel captivity, and He did not bring them forth empty but enriched.

So we pray for you now, that the Sun of Righteousness would rise upon you with healing beneath His wings. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but even the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing to the wounded heart and to the weary body. May He bind up your broken heart, for He alone can do that work truly and effectually. May He restore to you strength of body and peace of spirit, and change the life blood and make the nature whole again.

We ask the Lord to grant you holy discernment, not after the wisdom of the flesh, but by His Spirit and by His Word, that you may stand firm in the whole armor of God, looking continually to Jesus upon the cross and finding in His wounds your healing and in His death your life. May He deliver you from the archers of this present evil, and set your feet in a large place, that you may be able to say with the Psalmist, The Lord has chastened me sorely, but He has not given me over unto death, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.

May your deliverance come in God's perfect time, for the clock of mercy strikes the hour and moment of deliverance according to His eternal purpose, and may your lips be filled with songs of deliverance, giving thanks unto the Father who has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son.

We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and Healer, in whom alone is pardon and healing, justice and mercy. Amen.
