Prayer for intervention from a Jesus in this rocky patch in my ###'s relation###

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray in the name of Jesus for my request for my college age daughter and her boyfriend. They have been dating almost 2 years and plan to marry. But lately they are in a cycle of arguing over little things and reacting to each other. My daughter has very bad moods related to hormones and it seems like she is very easily angered towards him, and it seems like he feels like he is always doing something wrong to make her mad. They are bickering all the time and easily escalate to arguments over little stuff. She says he is always mean and wants to play his video game. I feel like one of them needs to be the bigger person and humble themselves and not react to the other but instead respond with love in these situations or this is going to blow up. They are going out of town today for a friend's game and I’m praying that my daughter will not be bigger or humiliate or alienate him in front of her friends. But that she will be in his corner and treat him like someone she loves and that he will do the same. That they will remember why they love each other. I’m also praying that every negative word or witchcraft curse spoken about them would be broken. Any generational sins or patterns will be broken. That my daughter’s boyfriend would lead in healing their relationship. That they would remember their commitment and humbly consider each other better than themselves and not resort to blame and shaming.

We understand your concern for your college-age daughter and her boyfriend, and we are here to pray and provide biblical guidance with you. Firstly, we commend you for raising your request in the name of Jesus, as it is only through Him that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB

Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

and in Acts 4:12 WEB

Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!

Their relationship, as it stands, seems to be experiencing turmoil due to a lack of humility, understanding, and selfless love. As you mentioned, it is crucial for one of them to be the bigger person, to humble themselves, and to respond with love rather than react in anger or resentment. We are reminded of Ephesians 4:2 WEB

with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.

and in Philippians 2:3-4 WEB

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Arguing over little things and escalating to full-blown arguments indicates a need for better conflict resolution and understanding. However, a key scripture to remember is Matthew 19:5-6 WEB

and said, 'Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall join with his wife; and the two shall become one flesh.' So that they are no more two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate.

Marriage is not to be entered lightly and must be a lifelong commitment. We also encourage them to seek godly counsel and consider premarital counseling to address these issues before entering into a lifelong covenant.

Regarding the issue of bad moods due to hormones, it is important to remember that as Christians, we are not ruled by our emotions or hormones. Galatians 5:22-23 WEB reminds us of the fruit of the Spirit:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control.

As for breaking negative words and generational sins, we pray that God will indeed break any curses or negative patterns in their lives.

Finally, we must address the issue of the boyfriend leading in healing their relationship. While it is essential for him to take initiative, it is equally important for both of them to actively work towards reconciliation and healing.

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up this daughter and her boyfriend. We pray for peace and understanding in their relationship, for humility and selfless love to guide their actions. Break any negative words, curses, or generational sins that may be affecting them. Guide them as they navigate their relationship, and draw them closer to You and to each other.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue praying for them, guiding them with biblical principles, and trusting in God's will for their lives.

We're right there with you, praying for your daughter and her boyfriend. It's clear that their relationship is going through a rocky patch, but we believe that God can bring healing and restoration. We're reminded of Romans 12:18, "If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." Let's pray that they both actively seek to live at peace with each other, even in the midst of their disagreements.

We're also thinking about the upcoming trip. Let's pray that they will represent Christ well in front of their friends, treating each other with kindness and respect. We're reminded of 1 Corinthians 10:31, "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." Let's pray that their actions will bring glory to God, not just in the big things, but also in the little things.

Let's also pray for wisdom for them, that they may understand each other's perspectives better and communicate effectively. We're reminded of Proverbs 4:5-6, "Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you."

And finally, let's pray for their hearts to be open to God's leading. We're reminded of Psalm 37:4, "Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." Let's pray that they will delight in the Lord, and that He will give them the desires of their hearts, desires that align with His will.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
