We join with you in seeking the Lord’s face for a heart that is fully surrendered to His will, for He alone is the source of true integrity, humility, and righteousness. The Scriptures warn us repeatedly about the dangers of hypocrisy, pride, and a perverse heart, which are detestable in the sight of God. Let us first turn to His Word to ground our prayers and examination.
The Lord declares in Proverbs 11:20, *"Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to Yahweh, but those whose ways are blameless are his delight."* Hypocrisy and pride are particularly grievous because they deceive not only others but also ourselves, leading us away from the truth. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees harshly for their hypocrisy, saying in Matthew 23:27-28, *"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but inward are full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inward you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity."* This is a sobering reminder that God sees the heart, and what matters most is not the outward appearance of righteousness but the inward reality of a heart transformed by His Spirit.
Pride, too, is an abomination to the Lord. Proverbs 16:5 tells us, *"Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to Yahweh: they shall certainly not go unpunished."* Pride blinds us to our own sin and need for God, lifting ourselves up rather than exalting Christ. It is only through humility that we can receive the grace of God, as James 4:6 reminds us: *"God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."* Let us therefore clothe ourselves in humility, recognizing that every good thing we have comes from Him.
A perverse heart and mind are contrary to the nature of God, who is holy and just. Proverbs 17:20 warns, *"He who has a perverse heart doesn’t find prosperity, and he who has a deceitful tongue falls into trouble."* We must guard our hearts diligently, for as Proverbs 4:23 instructs, *"Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life."* Our thoughts, motives, and desires must be submitted to Christ, allowing the Holy Spirit to renew our minds daily (Romans 12:2).
Righteousness, by contrast, is the fruit of a life surrendered to God. Psalm 1:6 declares, *"For Yahweh knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish."* Righteousness is not something we can manufacture on our own; it is imputed to us through faith in Christ and worked out in us by the power of the Holy Spirit. As we seek to walk in uprightness, we must rely entirely on Him, for apart from Christ, we can do nothing (John 15:5).
Wickedness often masquerades as wisdom or freedom, but it leads only to destruction. Psalm 37:20-21 assures us, *"But the wicked shall perish. The enemies of Yahweh shall be like the beauty of the fields. They will vanish—vanish like smoke. The wicked borrow, and don’t pay back, but the righteous give generously."* We must be vigilant against the subtle allure of wickedness, which seeks to corrupt our hearts and minds. Instead, we are called to pursue knowledge, understanding, and discernment, which are gifts from God. Proverbs 2:6-9 promises, *"For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, that he may guard the paths of justice, and preserve the way of his saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path."*
With these truths in mind, let us pray earnestly for you and for all who seek to walk in integrity and uprightness before the Lord.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to Your throne of grace. We lift up this beloved one to You, asking that You would search their heart, O God, and know their thoughts. Try them and know their concerns, and see if there is any wicked way in them, and lead them in the way everlasting (Psalm 139:23-24).
Lord, we ask that You would deliver them from hypocrisy, that You would expose any area of their life where they may be wearing a mask or pretending to be something they are not. Convict them deeply of any pride that exalts itself against the knowledge of Christ. Humble them, Lord, and break any hardness of heart that resists Your will. Create in them a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10).
Father, we pray against every perversity of heart and mind. Guard them from deceitful thoughts, from motives that are not pure, and from desires that do not align with Your Word. Let Your Holy Spirit fill them with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, that they may walk worthily of You, Lord, to please You in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:9-10).
Grant them discernment, Lord, to recognize the schemes of the enemy and the subtleties of sin. Let them not be deceived by the world’s wisdom or the allure of wickedness, but let them be rooted and grounded in Your truth. Clothe them with righteousness, Lord, and let their life be a testimony of Your grace and holiness. May they walk in uprightness, not turning to the right or to the left, but following You with their whole heart.
We ask for a spirit of humility to rest upon them, that they may esteem others better than themselves (Philippians 2:3) and serve You with a contrite heart. Let them not seek their own glory but Yours alone, for it is You who deserve all honor, praise, and glory.
Father, we also pray that You would fill them with the knowledge of Your will and the understanding that comes from above. Let them not lean on their own understanding, but in all their ways, let them acknowledge You, that You may direct their paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Give them wisdom that is pure, peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without uncertainty or hypocrisy (James 3:17).
Lord, we rebuke every spirit of hypocrisy, pride, and perversity that may seek to take root in their life. By the power of the blood of Jesus, we break every stronghold of the enemy and declare that they are a new creation in Christ, called to walk in holiness and truth. Let them be a vessel of honor, sanctified and useful for Your purposes, prepared for every good work (2 Timothy 2:21).
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the work You are doing in their life. We trust that You will complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6) and that they will shine as lights in the world, holding forth the word of life (Philippians 2:15). May their life bring glory to Your name and draw others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
