We understand how overwhelming anxiety can be, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle. The Lord cares deeply for you and invites you to cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you. It is written in 1 Peter 5:7, *"casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you."* Your worries about the visit and the fear of things going wrong are opportunities to trust God more fully, knowing that He is in control of all things.
However, we must gently address something important—your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved. As Scripture declares in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* And in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for He alone can bring true peace to your heart and eternal life to your soul. Repent of your sins, believe in Him, and surrender your life to His lordship. If you have already done this, then we encourage you to pray *in His name*, for it is through Him that our prayers are heard.
Anxiety often stems from a lack of trust in God’s sovereignty and goodness. Jesus Himself tells us in Matthew 6:25-34 not to worry about tomorrow, for each day has enough trouble of its own. Instead, we are to seek first God’s Kingdom and His righteousness, trusting that He will provide all we need. He asks, *"Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan?"* (Matthew 6:27). Your fear of car troubles, house issues, or other unexpected problems is an opportunity to lean on God’s promise that He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Even if something does go wrong, He is with you, and He will give you the strength and wisdom to handle it.
We also encourage you to meditate on Philippians 4:6-7, which says, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Instead of letting anxiety consume you, bring your concerns to God in prayer, thanking Him for His faithfulness, and trust that His peace will guard your heart.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our sister to You, asking that You would calm her anxious heart and fill her with Your perfect peace. Lord, she is struggling with fear and worry about the upcoming visit, and we ask that You would go before her, preparing the way and protecting her from any harm or unexpected troubles. Give her assurance that You are in control and that nothing happens without Your knowledge. Father, we rebuke the spirit of anxiety in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and command it to flee, for it has no place in the life of Your child. Replace her fear with faith, her worry with worship, and her doubt with trust in Your unfailing love.
Lord, we also pray that she would grow in her relationship with You, learning to cast all her cares upon You daily. Remind her that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). If there are areas in her life where she has not fully surrendered to You, convict her by Your Holy Spirit and draw her closer to Yourself. Help her to seek Your Kingdom first, trusting that You will provide all she needs.
We ask for Your blessing over this visit, that it would be a time of joy, fellowship, and encouragement. Protect her and her loved one from any harm or disruption, and let this time be a testament to Your goodness. If there are any unforeseen challenges, give her the grace to handle them with patience and faith, knowing that You work all things together for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28).
Finally, Father, we pray that she would always come to You in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone that we have access to Your throne. Strengthen her faith and fill her with Your Holy Spirit, that she may walk in victory over anxiety and live in the freedom and peace that Christ has purchased for her.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
