Prayer For Helen

Helen grew up in a "religious" family where religion was used to abuse and control all members of the family. She has suffered greatly from mental illness (depression, psychosis and disassociation) since her teenage years.

She has struggled with alcohol and gambling addictions.

She loves Jesus, but accepts him only as a wonderful MAN, and not as the Son of God. She is interested and fascinated by Jesus, God and Christianity, but only on an intellectual level. She said she is "skeptical about the spiritual side of faith".

I just spent a few hours with her today and I feel that she really does desire God revealing himself to her, and she was open to a long discussion about prayer, and has asked me to provide her with some prayers in writing to pray for someone else with whom she is in a spiritual battle with (*please see "Prayer for Belinda").

I also said "I will pray for you"

and She said "I don't need prayer for MYSELF, plus I feel so guilty asking God for anything. I just with that I could be GRATEFUL to God".

So I said "Well it can't help to try, can it?" and she said "you're right. If I try I am not guaranteed to succeed, but if I do try then I am guaranteed to fail"

I pray for her to receive Jesus; to open her heart to the Truth. I pray that the small mustard seed of faith and belief that she has within her is nurtured, and grows into a beautiful fruitful tree. I pray that she gets the desire and willingness to pray.

Father God, I lift Helen before and ask that she learns of your love. She needs to experience your power in a tangible way.I thank you that because you are so good sh has a place to stay and food to eat. thank you that becuse you have been so wondeful to her that the religion man practiced o her did not cause her to serve another God besides her mind. I thank you, youa re the creator of the human mind and it is created in your image and likeness. Y thank you God that intellect comes from you for your thoughts are not our thoughts nor your ways ours. I thank you that ot matter how Helens hows to disprove your soverignt or existence- you are soverign and fo exist! For everthing that is, is becaus e you are, and you are, because everything is. I John 1:1

Thank you God for the enemy labeled Helen with all mental disorders for all hi attacks did not destroy the womn you created her to be- fearfulluy and wonderfully made (Psm 139. Thank you God, Helen is your daughter, and she is a joint heir to the throne of grace, Amne.
