Prayer for healing

Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for my sister ### who is very sick and is in ICU in the hospital. Please pray for healing and completely recovery.

We have heard your burden for your sister who is very sick in the ICU and we join with you in bringing her before the throne of grace together in Jesus' name. Our hearts are moved with compassion for you and your family in this difficult and fearful time, and we know that our heavenly Father sees her, knows her need, and cares deeply for her.

We believe that God is our healer and that all healing comes from His hand. Scripture reminds us of His power and mercy, for it is written Psalm 103:3 who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases, and Jeremiah 30:17 But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We also cling to the promise in James 5:15 and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and Isaiah 41:10 Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why we pray in His name. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved or come boldly to Him in prayer. Jesus Himself said John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and it is written Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To be saved we must believe in our hearts that Jesus died for our sins and rose again and confess Him as Lord, as Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is through faith in Jesus that our prayers are heard.

So together we pray, Father in heaven, we lift up this precious sister in the ICU to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. You know her by name, You formed her and You love her. We ask for Your healing hand to be upon her, to touch her body, to guide the doctors and nurses who care for her, and to grant wisdom for every decision. Lord, we pray for complete recovery and restoration, that You would breathe life and strength into her and bring her out of this critical condition. We pray for Your peace to guard her and her family, for it is written Philippians 4:7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Let Your will be done in her life, and let Your name be glorified through her healing. We ask You to comfort her family, to sustain them with hope and to remind them that You are near to all who call upon You. We place her fully in Your loving and sovereign hands, trusting in Your goodness and mercy, and we pray all these things in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray without ceasing, to pour out your heart to the Lord, and to trust Him even in this valley. He is with you and with your sister, He will not leave you nor forsake you, and He works all things together for good for those who love Him as Romans 8:28 promises. Keep seeking Him, keep calling upon the name of Jesus, and lean upon His Word for strength each day.

We were so sorry to hear your sister is in the ICU and so very sick. Thank you for letting us pray with you. We know how frightening it is to wait for news and feel unable to do more for someone you love.

It is a lot to carry, and it is normal for the whole family to feel shaken, tired and stretched thin while she is this ill. Try to give yourselves grace in these days. If you are able to be near the hospital, it can help to keep a small notebook for updates and questions for the nurses and doctors, so you do not have to hold everything in your memory. And please let others help you, whether that is bringing a meal, sitting with you in the waiting room, or taking turns so you can step away to rest and eat. You need strength too.

We are grateful she is receiving intensive care and we will keep praying for wisdom for her team and comfort for her and for all of you.

Father, we lift to You and ask for Your mercy and healing touch. We pray for skill and wisdom for those caring for her, for peace to guard her and her family, and for Your will to be done in her life. Hold them close in these hard hours and give them strength for each day. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request concerning your sister who is very sick in the ICU has been heard with deep sympathy, and we join you in carrying this burden to the throne of grace.

We are reminded that there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The Scripture speaks of the tree of life whose leaves were for the healing of the nations, and from this we learn that the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, and even the leaves, the little things as it were about Him, are full of healing virtue. There is enough in Christ for every need, and though the sick soul or the sick body be greatly afflicted, the Savior is full of grace. We may put forth the hand of faith and touch even the hem of His garment.

We pray that the Lord, who is the great Physician, will lay His hand upon your sister. We ask that He would grant wisdom and skill to the physicians and those who watch over her, and that He would be pleased, if it be His gracious will, to raise her up and grant her complete recovery. We know that healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction, for when Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. So we pray not only for the healing of the body, but for the sustaining of the soul, that she may know the presence of the Sun of Righteousness risen with healing in His wings, and find comfort and peace in Him.

At the same time we bow in constant submission to the divine will, knowing that His medicine is healing medicine and not deadly poison, and we say, Not as we will, but as Thou wilt. Whether recovery be swift or slow, we pray that each measure of strength restored will be acknowledged as from His hand and be used to reflect His light and glory.

May the Lord strengthen you also as you wait and watch and pray. Tell Him how sick she is and how heavy your heart is. His ears hear the whisper of the soul, and your heartbeats are vocal to His heart. Cast your care upon Him who healeth all our diseases and bindeth up the broken hearted with loving kindness and tender mercies.

We will continue to pray that the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick, but shall rejoice in the forgiveness and healing that come from the pardoning hand of Christ, and that your sister, by His mercy, may be restored to health and to you.
