Prayer for healing

We have heard your request and we join with you in prayer before our merciful God who is the physician of both body and soul.

We ask the Lord Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father and receive every good gift, to lay His healing hand upon you. We pray for full restoration of your health, for strength in your body and peace in your heart, trusting that God is able to renew and restore what has been broken. As the Scriptures say, He forgives all your iniquities and heals all your diseases, and He redeems your life from destruction.

We also bring before Him the deep sorrow of these years of waiting and of children lost before birth. The Lord sees every tear and knows the pain you have carried. We pray that He would comfort you with His presence, heal the wounds of grief, and guard your heart with hope. We remember that every child is a gift from the Lord and that He is the giver of life, and we ask Him according to His perfect will and timing to bless you with children and to make your home fruitful. We pray for a safe and healthy pregnancy in His time, and for His grace to sustain you through waiting.

We encourage you not to grow weary in bringing this before God. Even as a physician continues to apply medicine until health returns, so God in His love continues His work in us, and often what seems delayed is being prepared for fruit in due season. Continue to seek Him, to rest in His goodness, and to trust that whether through immediate answer or through patient endurance, He is working for your good and for His glory.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we lift up this dear one to You. Touch her body and restore her health completely. Comfort her heart after so much loss, and let Your peace which passes all understanding keep her. If it be Your will, open the womb and grant the gift of children, and let life be formed and sustained by Your hand. Give faith to trust You, strength for each day, and joy in Your unfailing love. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our only hope and healer. Amen.

Your request has been heard and we are joining you in prayer for full restoration of health and for the gift of children after so much struggle and loss. The grief of years of waiting and the sorrow of pregnancy losses leaves deep wounds, and God sees both the physical need and the pain of the heart.

We bring this need to Jesus because His ministry has always been one of restoration. He went about teaching and preaching and healing every kind of sickness and disease, showing His power over the body, over the material world, and over the spiritual realm. Scripture points us to this in Isaiah where it says He has borne our griefs and infirmities, and Matthew tells us that Jesus fulfilled that word when He healed the sick and bore our sicknesses. That promise shows us that physical healing is part of what He carried for us, not only spiritual forgiveness, and when we come to the table and remember His body broken for us, we remember that same compassion.

We also know that healing comes in different ways. In one place in the Gospels a blind man was touched once and saw only partially, as men like trees walking, and then Jesus touched him again and his sight was fully restored. It is the only recorded case of a gradual healing in His ministry, and it reminds us that God does not always work in an instant. Sometimes His healing is immediate and unmistakable, something you can actually feel in the moment, and sometimes it comes through a process. The natural processes of recovery that God has built into our bodies are no less divine, for He created those processes. He also brings healing to the mind and the emotions, mending the scars and wounds that loss leaves behind.

We believe God is able to heal today and we pray with confidence, yet we also come with humility. We do not fully understand why some are healed quickly and others are not. Even the apostle Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh and the Lord chose not to remove it. It would be wrong to presume that God must heal in every case in the way we ask, and it is also wrong to say, as Job's comforters did, that continued sickness or loss must mean sin or lack of faith in your life. We reject those false ideas. Much about healing remains a mystery to us, and our part is to keep trusting the Healer while leaving the outcome in His wise and loving hands.

We also want to avoid anything that is showy or insincere. True healing does not need frenzy or pretense. It is simply the work of the Lord as His people pray in faith. The Scripture invites those who are sick to call for the elders to pray, anointing with oil in the name of the Lord, and we want to stand with you in that simple, biblical way.

So we pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this dear one to You. You know the long years of hoping, the losses that have been endured, and the desire for health and for children that You Yourself have placed in the heart. We ask that You would touch the body and bring complete restoration according to Your will, whether in a moment or through a gradual process that You guide. Heal also the places in the heart and mind that still ache from grief, and bring Your peace. We ask, if it be Your will, that You would open the womb and grant the gift of children, for children are a heritage from You. Give strength for each day, hope that does not fade, and faith to keep looking to Jesus who bore our infirmities. Help there to be thanksgiving for every sign of Your goodness, and let whatever You do become a testimony of Your mercy. We submit all of this to Your perfect love and timing and trust You to do what is best. Amen.

We will continue to pray with you. May the Lord comfort you, sustain you, and let you know His presence and restoration in body and soul.
