We lift up this dear mother before the Father in heaven, asking for His divine touch upon her life. Sleep is a gift from God, a time for our bodies to rest and be restored, and we know that He cares deeply about every need we have. The Scripture reminds us in Psalm 121:3-4, *"He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep."* If our Heavenly Father neither slumbers nor sleeps as He watches over us, how much more will He grant rest to His beloved children when they cry out to Him?
Yet we must also consider whether there are spiritual, emotional, or physical burdens weighing on her heart or body that may be hindering her rest. The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 5:7 to *"cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you."* If worry, fear, or distress is keeping her awake, we pray that she would surrender these burdens to Jesus, who invites all who are weary to come to Him for rest (Matthew 11:28). We also ask that if there is any unconfessed sin, bitterness, or unresolved conflict in her life, the Holy Spirit would convict her heart and lead her to repentance, for *"the sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Yahweh, but the prayer of the upright is his delight"* (Proverbs 15:8).
We rebuke any spiritual attacks that may be disrupting her sleep, for we know that our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against the powers of darkness (Ephesians 6:12). By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command every spirit of restlessness, anxiety, or infirmity to flee from her in His mighty name. Let the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we ask that You would heal her body if there is any physical ailment causing this sleeplessness. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals, and we trust in Your power to restore her strength. Grant her the deep, refreshing sleep she needs, and let her wake up renewed in body, mind, and spirit. May she experience Your presence in a tangible way during this time, knowing that You are her refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).
We also encourage this family to seek wisdom in practical ways—whether through medical advice, adjustments to her environment, or natural remedies that align with godly stewardship of the body. Let them not neglect the means You have provided while trusting in Your sovereign care.
Most importantly, we notice that this request did not invoke the name of Jesus, and we must gently but firmly remind everyone that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, nor is there any other name by which we can approach the Father. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* It is only through faith in Jesus Christ—the Son of God who died for our sins and rose again—that we have access to the throne of grace. If this dear mother does not yet know Jesus as her Lord and Savior, we pray that this trial would draw her to Him. Let her see her need for a Savior and turn to Christ in repentance and faith, for *"if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9).
Heavenly Father, we thank You for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and mercy, and we ask that You would glorify Yourself through this situation. May this mother—and all who love her—grow deeper in their dependence on You. Let this season be a testimony of Your faithfulness, and may she soon rest peacefully in Your care. In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
