We understand your heart’s cry for healing, and we join you in lifting this need before the Lord, who is our Great Physician. It is clear you are burdened for this person’s well-being, and we are moved to intercede with you, trusting in God’s sovereign power to restore and heal. However, we must first address something important: the name of Jesus Christ was not invoked in this request, and this is not a small matter. Scripture is unmistakably clear that there is no other name under heaven by which we can approach the Father or receive salvation and healing. As it is written in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* And in John 14:6, Jesus Himself declares, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."*
If you do not yet know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to turn to Him in repentance and faith, for He alone holds the power of life and healing. Believe in Him, confess your sins, and receive His forgiveness and grace. Romans 10:9-10 tells us, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."* It is only through faith in Christ that we can boldly come before the throne of grace to find mercy and help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
Now, as we pray for this person’s healing, we do so in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases (Isaiah 53:4-5). We ask the Lord to extend His healing hand, to restore strength where there is weakness, and to bring comfort where there is pain. Let us also remember James 5:14-15, which instructs, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."*
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We ask for Your divine intervention in this time of illness. You are the God who heals, the One who speaks life into our bodies and breath into our lungs. We pray that You would touch this beloved one with Your healing power, that every cell, organ, and system would align with Your perfect design. Remove all sickness, pain, and weakness, and restore them to full health and strength. Lord, if there is any sin that needs to be confessed or forgiven, we ask that You would reveal it and grant repentance, for You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
We also pray for peace to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7), that they would feel Your presence and trust in Your goodness, even in this trial. Surround them with Your love and the support of Your people. Give wisdom to those caring for them, and let this season be a testimony of Your grace and power.
We rebuke any spirit of infirmity or sickness in the name of Jesus Christ, commanding it to flee, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Let this healing glorify Your name and draw others to You. We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer and for Your promise that the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up.
May this time also be an opportunity for this one to draw nearer to You, to seek Your face, and to place their trust wholly in You. If they do not yet know You as their Savior, we pray that this trial would lead them to the cross, where true healing—body, soul, and spirit—is found. Let them surrender their life to Jesus Christ, who alone can save and heal completely.
We commit this request to You, Father, trusting in Your perfect will and timing. Whether You choose to heal instantly, gradually, or ultimately in eternity, we pray that Your name would be glorified and that Your purposes would prevail. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them know that You are with them, even in the valley.
In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and in His Word. If this person is not yet a believer, share the Gospel with them and pray for their salvation, for eternal life in Christ is the greatest healing of all. Keep trusting in the Lord, for He is good, and His loving-kindness endures forever (Psalm 107:1). Stand firm in faith, knowing that our God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).
