Prayer for healing over hip and ability to walk

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Hello, I had a surgery on my hip along with a tendon reattachment a year ago and both have left me deeply wounded and with great difficulty walking, for which I did not have a problem before. This has been very traumatic for me and I feel scared and internally threatened by the pain and disability. Can someone kindly pray over me for healing, for my ability to walk as before, for wisdom, for a helpful physical therapist and for God to strengthen me, and to not lose hope.

We have heard your heartfelt request and we are lifting you up together before the Lord with compassion, for we know how deeply this hip surgery and tendon reattachment and the ongoing pain and difficulty walking has wounded you and left you feeling scared and internally threatened.

We want to remind you that our God sees your trauma and your pain and He is near to you in it. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and He has promised But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. When fear rises up within you, remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7 and we are told Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might Isaiah 40:29 and God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1.

We notice that your request spoke of God but did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is in His name that we can come boldly to the throne of grace for healing and help.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. Lord, You know the wound left by this surgery, the pain in the hip, the struggle to walk, the trauma and fear that has taken hold inside. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon this hip and upon the reattached tendon, to restore what has been damaged and to ease the pain. We pray that You would restore the ability to walk as before, that You would strengthen the body and make the legs steady. Lord, grant wisdom from above, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5, give wisdom to this dear one and to every doctor and physical therapist involved. Lead to a helpful, skilled and compassionate physical therapist who will provide the right care. Strengthen this weary heart, calm the fear and anxiety, and let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard the heart and mind in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. Father, help this dear one not to lose hope, but to wait upon You, for those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint Isaiah 40:31. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek wise medical care and to faithfully work with your physical therapy while trusting the Lord as your ultimate healer, for Yahweh says I am Yahweh who heals you Exodus 15:26. Bring every fear and anxious thought to Him in prayer, for He cares for you and He is close to the brokenhearted Psalm 34:18. We pray that He will renew your hope day by day, that you will feel His strengthening presence with each small step forward, and that you will see His goodness in restoring your strength to walk again. We are standing with you and trusting God with you for complete healing and restored hope.

We were moved by your honesty about this past year. To go into surgery hoping for relief and to come out with more pain and difficulty walking is deeply discouraging, and it makes sense that you feel scared and threatened inside. We are praying for you.

Living with ongoing pain and limited mobility wears on every part of life, and it can quietly steal confidence and hope. Please know you are not forgotten in this hard stretch.

We join you in asking God for healing and for restored strength to walk, and for wisdom for each next decision. Alongside prayer, we encourage you to keep your medical team involved. If you have not already, it may help to return to your surgeon or primary doctor to share exactly how walking and pain have changed, and to ask specifically about a physical therapist who is a good fit for you. Bringing a trusted friend to appointments and writing down your questions beforehand can make those visits less overwhelming.

You asked us not to let you lose hope, and we will keep asking God to steady you day by day and to put supportive people around you.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. You see the pain in this hip and the fear it brings. Please bring Your healing and comfort, grant wisdom to doctors and therapists, and give strength and hope for each step. Guide every decision and let Your nearness be felt. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your trial has been laid before the Lord, and we have heard with tender concern of the pain and difficulty in walking which has followed your hip surgery and tendon reattachment. To be wounded where you hoped to be made whole, and to find a new disability where there was none before, is indeed a sore and traumatic affliction, and it is no wonder that fear and an inward sense of being threatened should press upon your spirit.

Be encouraged that the Lord sees your condition and hears your cry. He says to His own, Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord. Fear is weakening and dishonors the strength of Him who piled the heavens, yet He gently whispers Fear not to those who fall as dead at His feet. You need not labor to sustain yourself alone, for trust in promised strength removes fear. There is no hope for you in yourself, but there is hope for you in Him whom God has provided to be the Saviour of such as you, and that hope may become this very morning a good hope of sustaining grace through believing in Jesus Christ.

There is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The Scripture says the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. Though safe walking can only come of careful walking, and though you now put one foot before the other with trembling, the Lord is able to restore and to heal, to take away the heart of stone and fear and to write His comfort upon a heart of flesh. He grants help when men are humbled and put their mouth in the dust, if so there may be hope.

We now pray for you before the throne of grace.

O Lord our God, look in mercy upon Your afflicted child who suffers pain in the hip and great difficulty in walking after surgery. Lay Your healing hand upon the joint and tendon that were operated upon, and grant restoration according to Your will, that strength and steadiness may return to the limb and walking may be made more sure. Give wisdom to all who care for this dear one, and provide a skillful and helpful physical therapist whose hands may be guided by You. Strengthen the inner man when outward strength fails, and lift up the heart that is cast down by trauma and fear. Remove tormenting fear, and speak Your own word, Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed for I am your God. Keep this soul from losing hope, but establish it in the hope of Your calling, that confidence in Christ may bring assurance and peace. Grant patience in the length of the way, and let even this affliction turn to Your glory and to deeper trust in Jesus, in whose name we ask it. Amen.
